LoDuca DH?!?

btw, it's an ESPN game for all you out-of-towners

P.S. Either you have your SS & 2B reversed or we're going to check with Willie's shrink.

Reyes 2B?!?!?

metirish
Jun 28 2006 04:25 PM

Umm I'm just going with what Boston.com has, but yeah Reyes can't be playing 2nd, Castro is probably playing because Willie wants to shut down Boston's non-existent running game...

Elster88
Jun 28 2006 04:33 PM

Only thing I can think of is Reyes' arm hurts too much so he can only make shorter throws. But if that was true then he shouldn't be in the lineup at all.

More likely an error by that website.

I'd MUCH rather see Chavez and Nady then Chavez and Milledge.

Jun 28 2006 04:34 PM

Nady bruised his wrist last night so I assume that's why he's out.

Hillbilly
Jun 28 2006 04:35 PM

Nady is day to day. Expect a big game at the plate from the rook.

Gwreck
Jun 28 2006 05:02 PM

I'm not sure why -- if we're not going to use the DH to "rest" Delgado, Reyes, Beltran or Wright -- Julio Franco isn't getting the ABs.

Gwreck

MLB.com gameday shows Reyes SS and Valentin 2B as expected.

ESPN's graphic: "Josh Becket"

Gwreck

Rare appearance by Mr. Met at a road game.

TransMonk
Jun 28 2006 07:16 PM

Good for Pedro, good for Boston.

Nice ovation.

Beckett throws hard.

KC
Jun 28 2006 07:16 PM

Mr. Met is at Fenway on top of the Mets' dugout applauding Pedro's
entrance?!? I've seen everything.

Gwreck
Jun 28 2006 07:24 PM

Failure to turn the DP by Pedro is ominously bad...

ScarletKnight41
Jun 28 2006 07:28 PM

Crap - 2-0 Red Sox, still only one out.

Gwreck
Jun 28 2006 07:31 PM

Make that 4-0 on another bad error by Milledge.

TransMonk
Jun 28 2006 07:31 PM

Trade Milledge NOW!!!

Zito looks better everyday.

ScarletKnight41
Jun 28 2006 07:33 PM

I'd love to have Zito, but I'm not looking to trade Milledge.

That said, Milledge just wrote his ticket back to Norfolk, with instructions that he needs to work on his friggin' fielding!

Hillbilly
Jun 28 2006 07:33 PM

If theyb trade LM to boston, they'll need to move him to right.

Frayed Knot
Jun 28 2006 07:47 PM

Holy Nightmare 1st innings Batman!

Lastings looks like he wants to crawl in a hole right now.
Of course had Pedro not brain-locked earlier (and given up 3 hits) it wouldn't have gotten to that point.

Time to get on yer hittin' shoes boys.

TransMonk
Jun 28 2006 07:59 PM

Beckett is dealing.

Milledge now has more K's than hits for the year.

KC
Jun 28 2006 08:05 PM

Leftfield at Fenway has made much more seasoned visiting outfielders look
just as silly as Milledge, Mrs. Fields ... let's not pile on just to get a Zito post in.

Everyone has an agenda.

Gwreck
Jun 28 2006 08:07 PM

Oh jeez, this is getting ugly now. Darren Oliver threw 60 pitches on Saturday, that's 3 days rest...hopefully he can go a few if necessary.

TransMonk
Jun 28 2006 08:08 PM

The post was in jest...mostly.

I don't care about Zito. But Milledge has done very little to impress me.

KC

I was mocking Scarlet, TM, not realizing I was piggy backing you on the mock lol.

Jun 28 2006 08:19 PM

8 to nothing, Red Sox.

This game is rather anticlimactic, isn't it?

Yancy Street Gang
Jun 28 2006 08:21 PM

Delgado homer makes it 8-1.

This isn't a quality start for Pedro, is it?

The Big O
Jun 28 2006 08:23 PM

Oliver on; cue approximately 1 hojillion scoreless innings

TransMonk
Jun 28 2006 08:28 PM

How many zeros is that?

TransMonk
Jun 28 2006 08:29 PM

What? No video montage for ex-Red Sock Darren Oliver?

Jun 28 2006 08:31 PM

Is Pedro hurt? Or are are the Red Sox his new "Daddy"?

Zvon
Jun 28 2006 08:42 PM

Ugly game so far.
I havent seen Milledge's error tonight yet but I saw last nights and that was just awful. I dont know how he lost that ball, but he did.

This is ashame- I expected quite a pitchers dual here.
I think Boston being so nice to Pedro was a sabatoging factor, effecting his competitiveness.

j/k,.........kinda.

(no CPF kaboom for Delgado? Whats goin on here?)

Hillbilly
Jun 28 2006 08:54 PM

I wish we could at least get something going! But nothing!

Zvon
Jun 28 2006 09:02 PM

Just reading last nights IGT and T-Monks mock Boston accent is hysterical.
And Ill quote him tonight, cuz it applies tonight as well:

]Mothah Love Bone...this sucks.

Chloe/Crown of Thorns MAN!

Johnny Dickshot
Jun 28 2006 09:07 PM

What gets me isn't losing to a superior team, it's playing shittily enough to not make it close.

Phils and Phish losing.

Boston trotting out the 2nd string.

It's all good. It's just Pedro tormenting the Yankees one more time.

Centerfield
Jun 28 2006 09:24 PM

Some people say that using two hands is overrated...and with the big gloves, they may have a point...but one thing it does is force you to get centered underneath the ball. You would think after last night Lastings would take every precaution not to repeat his mistake. Even the one he grabbed tonight was one-handed.

Say what you want about his attitude (I personally find him hard to like) but his shaky fielding and his lack of plate discipline are the bigger issues.

Nymr83
Jun 28 2006 09:32 PM

i dont mind his attitude, but man does he need some time in the minors.

Zvon
Jun 28 2006 09:48 PM

I just saw the error.
Yow.

I dont know how it feels to play with the Mohnstah at your back, so Ill reserve comment.

But yow.

Da fat lady just barked out a tune.
Game ovah!

Pedro just didnt have it tonight.
Just saw the play where he messed up on the grounder to the mound.
Couldnt see third but he sure had the guy at second.
Wierd night for Martinez.
