I'm sorry sharpie. I've been off all week but didn't stop by here at all.
Also, I see your other challenge vs. CCR and I believe I read somewhere a few weeks ago that Rockin Doc is away somewhere this week, so that may be one you'll have to wait for too.

Interesting Fact: Martin Sharp, the sleeve designer for Cream's Disrael Gears album and "acknowledged king of the UK poster scene in the '60s," cites Vincent Van Gogh and Tiny Tim as his primary influences. "Tim's appropriation of song is very much like my appropriation of images. We are both collagists taking the elements of different epochs and mixing them to discover new relationships."

Sharp also contributed to Cream as a lyricist for "Tales fo Brave Ulysses."

Interesting Fact: The instrumental "Fire On High," from the Face the Music album, with its mix of strings and blazing acoustic guitars, saw heavy exposure as background music on CBS Sports Spectacular montages, though most viewers had no idea of the song's origins.

Cream songs all alphabetized.
ELO songs also alphabetized except for "Xanadu" in the #2 spot between "All Over the World" and "Do Ya?" Rumor has it that "Can't Get It Out of My Head" was originally on that list and that "Xanadu" was a late replacement.

cooby

No, it was "Don't Bring Me Down", which I don't like.

I forgot "Can't Get It Out of My Head". I can't find my one list

Cream 8-2. ELO comes close, but can't do better than to tie Cream for any particular matchup.

"Badge" vs. "All Over the World"

=orange]ELO. The rockabilly octave hiccup in his voice cinches it.

"Crossroads" vs. "Xanadu"

=blue]Cream.

"I Feel Free" vs. "Do Ya?"

He doesn't sound free. =orange]ELO.

"I'm So Glad" vs. "Evil Woman"

=blue]Cream.

"N.S.U." vs. "Last Train to London"

=blue]Cream. ELO is being discodrippy.

"Spoonful" vs. "Mr. Blue Sky"

=orange]ELO. Running Away.

"Strange Brew" vs. "Strange Magic"

=orange]ELO by an edge.

"Sunshine Of Your Love" vs. "Sweet Talking Woman"

=blue]Cream.

"Tales of Brave Ulysses" vs. "Telephone Line"

=orange]ELO.

"White Room" vs. "Turn to Stone"

Tie.

I'm giving it to =orange]ELO, 5.5-4.5. A band that everybody took seriously at the time, losing to a band that nobody took seriously until relatively recently.
