Heard it in the mens room, but I figured if it's true there would be some

This f-ing guy kills me.

According to a team official who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the Mets are seriously considering a call-up of their top pick from the 2005 amateur draft.

I'm thinking the Pelfrey decision won't be made til Pedro's session tomorrow afternoon.

Willie thinks so, too. (According to his interview with Russo on WFAN this afternoon).

Still wish they gave him some time at AAA.

If he pitches, it will be Friday, not Saturday.

Why do I say that? I'm going on Saturday, and I have a habit of missing things at Shea by a day.

From the NYT...

INSIDE PITCH

Pedro MartÍnez was scheduled to throw practice pitches yesterday but chose not to, reducing the already minimal chance that he will pitch before the All-Star Game break. The Mets will decide Martínez's status after he throws in the bullpen today, and they will almost certainly place him on the disabled list to clear space for Mike Pelfrey to make his major league debut this weekend against the Florida Marlins.

General Manager Omar Minaya and Willie Randolph continued to say that Pelfrey was "in the mix" with José Lima and Darren Oliver for starts tomorrow and one game of Saturday's doubleheader. John Maine will start the other game. "If he's ready to come up, bring him in," Randolph said of Pelfrey. "I love young talent."

Maybe they can bring him up to pinch-hit; he's 5-for-11 with a double and three runs scored for Binghamton so far.

According to ESPNews and MetsBlog, he will.
