It's a good thing Henry Owens is falling off to the side - that's a line drive coming back up the middle...

That is a GREAT shot of Bradford. Sell it to Topps for his '07 baseball card.

Great pix.

It must have been rough for you to have to narrow it down to just those few <g>

Do you have the one with Valentin's stats when he was coming up to bat late in the second game?

nice shots, did you have good seats or just an insane zoom in on the camera?

We sat in the mezzanine boxes near section 24 for the first game. I went down to the loge behind home plate just to get a few shots of Pelfrey in the first inning. I noticed that there were just enough seats for all of us to sit together, so I called SK, and told them to come down...

Thanks guys...

Now, not to get all Greg Brady on you, but I zoomed in and took a closer look at the shot of Chad Bradford, and it looks like his foot is off the rubber before he let go...

That's cheating, no?

I love the Bradford pic with the rubber arm.

As for toeing the rubber, I think as long as you keep your toe in the hole
most guys do that than not. Not something ya really think about, but some-
thing to tune into the second half for sure.

Maine and Pelfrey look like they're doing it too. Zoom in on the Maine shot if you have a chance, Iubitul.

I think it's the norm, just like the back line of the batters box being wiped out
quickly to make up for the pitcher getting a little closer?

I think it's the norm. A lot of ower pitchers probably have their rear leg exploding up in the air before the ball is released.

I think if you go through your own motion, you'll find that most of us are at one leg at our release pont. The rules probably reflect that. Come to a stop on the pitchers' plate and get one stride off as part of your throwing motion.

Check out Nolie. His rear foot is ten inches ahead of the rubber and he's still got the ball.

Great pics, that Bradford pic is one of the best baseball pictures I have ever seen.

Considering Bradford's low speed, arm angle, small innings load, and success,I imagine it's worth a shot in the dark to try out a female NCAA softball star with a 0.22 ERA.

Send her to Brooklyn and blow their minds.

Not at all.

A team as hundreds of minor leaguers under contract. Each is, by definition, an experiment. Some should be safe experiements, and some should be radical ones. There weren't a lot of peeps who thought Bradford could ever get major leaguers out. With movement, moxie, and enough control to put a very high percentage of his pitches at the knees and on the insde corner, Bradford has flourished. The first two qualities are in high supply among NCAA softball pitching ranks. What we're searching for is that last quality.

Someday, some freak will be the first chick playing for a big-league affilliated team. And we know from the proliferation of miniscule ERAs at the NCAA level that many of these young women are playing below their level but have no other place to go. Why not try one out?

The job of most minor-league players anyhow is simply to be the teammates of the prospects that the team takes seriously.

Awesome. A catcher with filthy shinguards. Suit up Missy Pinkshirt and bi-racial girl in the yellow skirt also.
