What a suprise, Jose Lima returned for another start so naturally the Mets found themselves in a big hole early and eventually lose the game. Darren Oliver came on to pitch 5 innings of stellar relief for the Mets. Henry Owens made his major league debut and pitched an impressive 1-2-3 ninth for the Mets.
Meanwhile, Dontrelle Willis scattered the Mets hits and kept their offense largely at bay. He gave up allowed a large number of baserunners, but found a way to strand the vast majority of them. Overall, the Mets stranded 21 runner tonight.
There are few Mets that deserve a beer after tonight's performance. However, I'm in a generous mood so I have secured a keg for the team. Only problem is our sponsor won't deliver. So someone has to go get the beer for the team. I suggest they send Jose Lima, since he is of no other use to the team.
So as soon as Jose gets back from the UST-ILIMSK BREWERY of Siberia, the team can have a drink. So please join me in bidding Jose farewell.
