Frustrating fargin' game.
We didn't exactly play well enough to win - but of Florida's (11 ?) hits they hit about 2 of them hard. At this point I've had quite enough of their stick-the-bat-out/swing-with-the-butt-out/bloopers over the IFers head pieces of shit. They had a couple of those in Friday's game as well.
I know it's a stupid thing to bitch about when we got all of 3 runs and played like garbage in the field but I'm gonna do it anyway.

It's always okay to bitch, especially when you keep loading the bases and you can't do anything and you hit a freaking popup in fair territory but you don't freaking run like you're in tee ball and nobody ever taught you what you're supposed to do when you hit the ball dammit and Delgado makes you look stupid which apparently isn't very hard to do because you're hitting .260 and whooo you hit two doubles later but that doesn't count and your only offense comes from your freaking pitcher and finally the club's over .500 and you're not in last place anymore and you've got a guy on the hill who you give like fifteen runs a game every time out there but nooooooo can't do it on a beautiful holiday weekend to maybe get some freaking momentum dammit dammit dammit.

Games like this suck.

Wolfie pretty much summed up todays game for me. I don't wanna breathe,
I wanna catch the Gnats.

Official "I Hoped Against Hope" Response

When Offerman was brought up to the Mets, I reluctantly thought it was all right to add him as a pinch hitter. But I also though that I hoped he would never have to play a defensive position for the club.

Unfortunately for the Mets, I was right.

Lotsa less than good plays today, not just from Offerman.

- First of all that wasn't a very good throw from Marlon who had more time than he seemed to realize. Yeah, the error probably belonged to Offerman - the ball hit just at that point between being a short hop and not bouncing at all - but Anderson was equally at fault, He has a weird throwing motion; he seems OK whipping the ball sidearm but comes over the top kinda strange and with no oomph.

- Piazza actually made 2 good throws on steal attempts (out of about 5 or 6) but Reyes inexplicably decided to glove one of them behind the bag where if he catches it 18 inches sooner the runner would have tagged himself out w/the slide.

- For a guy who can run down fly balls with anyone, Cameron seems to make most of his errors by mis-charging balls on the ground. Very strange.

- Alex Gonzalez - who scored during that ugly inning - should have been out twice on the bases. One was the Reyes tag (see above) but right before that he was picked off cleanly (tag right on his fuckin knee) and we didn't get the call.

- And yeah, there was the Beltran play. Not that it was excusable but brain locks like that happen due to frustration as a result of such a shitty AB. If I believe he was prone to stuff like that I'd be concerned ... I'm not.

It's not often that 7-3 games can be said to have "gone either way" but this one kinda fits that category. The game essentially came down to a story of DPs made and those not made. iow - a handful of ABs decided the outcome.

I missed this one - I was at a Little League game (actually, a scrimmage. Mini Knight's team won, but that was because the other team didn't show. So the kids played a practice game to make up last night's rained out practice) and following the scores remotely. What did Beltran do?

Runner on 1st/1 out ... Carlos hits a little cheesy bloop with almost no hangtime near 1st base and just hangs his head at the lameness of it all ... but Delgado is alert to the fact that he's just standing there and purposely allows the bloop to fall at his feet ... where he picks it up and tosses to 2nd for the force and onto 1st for the DP -- end of inning.

Not really the biggest moment of the day, but def the most embarrassing.

Sheesh - even Mini Knight knows that you always have to run these things out!
