Daily Snooze, 7/2:

Scott Strickland, who declared free agency rather than remain in the minors with the Mets, had his contract voided by the Astros. Strickland arrived with elbow discomfort and was unable to pitch.

Sucks for him, and I'm sorry in retrospect that I abused Omar for not calling him up. I hope this isn't the end of the road for him; perhaps he could get healthy and be a Duck.

Well, I was totally wrong about Strickland. I think I'm officially 0-5 in predicting relief pitchers this season.

your success rate for prognostication with regard to firstbasemen is not much better, Rottweiler!
