We actually visited the Mall of America during our 2002 baseball trip (we saw games in Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Detroit that trip). It was pretty nice, and there were a lot of things that entertained the kids. The most memorable thing, though, was that it was close enough to our hotel so that D-Dad and I jogged there on the Sunday morning, before the stores were open, and we jogged through the mall's first floor. The place is massive, btw.

I lived in Minnesota pre-Mall of America. My first teaching job was in Winona, a lovely town on the Mississippi, about 90 miles south of the Twin Cities. Those were the Twins of Bob Allison, Harmon Killebrew, Camilo Pascual, Zoilo Versalles. And I remember going to a a few Viking games - Fran Tarkenton, Alan Page, Jim "Wrong Way" Marshall. And they even had a Winona player on the team - Karl "Cowboy" Kassulke.
