Need Help From A Connecticutian

I know we have a few Nutmeggers in the pool, so hopefully someone can help. We're looking to host a breakfast in the greater Hartford area some time around Thanksgiving. I've used some of the hotels in the past, but I want to see if there's anything different out there, like a good restaurant (one that serves breakfast) with some sort of private room that can fit around 50 people. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Wolf, I live in Fairfield County and am not too familliar with the Hartford area. But I've attended a business breakfast/ networking meeting at Vito's By the Park, 26 Trumbull Street. It was Continental style, so I can't vouch for their real meals.
But you might want to give them a call and find out of they have a separate room for social functions. And the park across the street is quite nice. (Of course, the leaves will be down by then.)

And they validate parking for the garage right around the corner.

Can't help you with Hartford, I'm a Fairfield county guy as well.

It's a miracle I don't get lost driving myself home from the train every night let alone have any idea of where a nice hotel in Hartford might be.

Sorry wolfie.

I'm afraid my Connecticut days were in Fairfield Co. too. Good luck.

Much thanks so far... I'm debating whether or not to avoid downtown; people will be coming from around the greater metro area, and considering it's an 8:00 am meeting, I'm thinking somewhere outside of downtown might draw more folks. Thank you!

How close to Hartford does it need to be? Avon Old Farms Inn is probably about 20 minutes or so west of Hartford in Avon. They're a restuarant and conference center, well known for their excellent brunches. You can check their website out here: http://www.avonoldfarmsinn.com/. I've been to a few things there so I know they do a good job. There's also a hotel across the street, with a very similar name, Avon Old Farms Hotel, that does meetings and catering. I've only been to the bar there and seen some of the rooms, never eaten or gone to a meeting there, but it's a nice looking place. Their website is here: http://www.avonoldfarmshotel.com/.

My parents live in the area and I will try to get some other suggestions from my mother tonight.
