This is unique -

Subscription Harassment - A resident of xxxxx St. reported being harassed recently. According tot he police, someone is filling out magazine subscriptions and having them sent to the victim's residence under different names.

Here was one of my favorites from my town growning up:

A resident of Ossipee RD complained of cows on the road. The bovines dispersed as the police arrived.

Not so unique -

We used to do that in college to get magazines sent to the house and not pay for them.

My favorite thing was getting Sports Illustrated addressed to:

Yeah soup, but you never complained to the police about it.

That's true - we were hoping the police never found out about it.

I'm sure the police will be all over that case.

Maybe they can subpoena the subscription fulfillment company for the cards so they can do a DNA and handwriting analysis. Sounds implausible, but I could see something like that cracking a case on CSI.

My favorite from the police blotter in my college newspaper is when someone had a new CD stolen from their CD player and replaced with a Michael Bolton CD.

I briefly considered doing this to my exbrother in law once when he was harrassing my sister, but thought better of it.

You know, for the reasons Yancy describes

Me and one my best friends had like a ten year every couple of times a year
practical joke thing going with each other. He's a letter carrier in Massachusetts
and one day a number of years ago he and my goddaughter sat down and filled out
like sixty cards he pulled out of mags and mailed them out with my name on them.

Bird Talk, OUT, Model Railroader ... you name it ... I got it. (and the bills and job of can-
celling sixty subscriptions). I never retaliated and the practical joke thing is dormant.

For now.

Black Jack Shellack, of Syracuse, NY, has been added to the Woolrich mailing list. Yes, I am bored today.

If they didn't want people sending in fake subscriptions, they should never have created that darn "Bill Me Later" check box.
