ESPN has Wright hitting fifth.
SteveJRogers Jul 16 2006 05:54 PM |
Yeah, bad typo, D Wright at third, I'm going to keep that up for the laughs of it!
Zvon Jul 16 2006 06:03 PM |
I aint laughin'.......lol. Okay, Im chucklin'- Chucklin' at that ESPN Cubs opening to the game too- "...the transporter will be developed before the Cubs win it all again."
Zvon Jul 16 2006 06:09 PM |
Mets sent Owens down right after yesterdays game.
Zvon Jul 16 2006 06:20 PM |
Mets get a break on Woodwards pop up, which gets lost between 2nd and center and falls in for a single, but the Mets can't capitalize on it.

ScarletKnight41 Jul 16 2006 06:34 PM |
El Duque is pitching pretty pukey this evening :(
ScarletKnight41 Jul 16 2006 06:39 PM |
Tomorrow is an off day. El Duque is ineffective, to say the least.
Zvon Jul 16 2006 06:40 PM |
At this point I think he's trying to be too dileberate. So of course, he walks Mabry and that bastage Murton. Hes gotta get out of it here-close the door here-pull the string- any more cliches? Damn! They had the bastage Murton picked off and dont get the call! UGH.
Zvon Jul 16 2006 06:43 PM |
After all that the Cubs only end up plating 2.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 16 2006 06:52 PM |
Lovely - the pitcher homers against El Puque.
Zvon Jul 16 2006 06:52 PM |
Cubs pitcher Marshall goes yard.
Zvon Jul 16 2006 06:55 PM |
And that lil knat Pierre singles. yea--go get him give him the hook- send him to the showers- ...any more cliches? I kid. This is dismal.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 16 2006 06:58 PM |
In a new low for drivel, the ESPN crew is speculating that El Duque's problems stem from his psychological distaste for throwing to a catcher named Castro.
metirish Jul 16 2006 07:02 PM |
This game is quickly turning to crap.
Zvon Jul 16 2006 07:04 PM |
I was trying to find a way to phrase what I tought about this, but you hit the nail on the head. .......what she said^. Pierre steals second, Barrett doubles him in. DaJaVu all over again.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 16 2006 07:05 PM |
It's turned. Ugh. 5-0 Cubs in the second. Oliver is coming into the game, closing the barn door long after the horses have fled.
Zvon Jul 16 2006 07:06 PM |
Turning? (sl=1000) (sarcastic look) It was heaping piles of poo out of the gate. lol. Thats all for ElDouque. He cant get out of the 2nd and the Cubs have scored 3 more.
Zvon Jul 16 2006 07:13 PM |
I left out the word steaming---
Zvon Jul 16 2006 07:16 PM |
And suddenly Marshall looks like Kerry Wood in his rookie year.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 16 2006 07:20 PM |
And the Cubs get a lead off single.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 16 2006 07:25 PM |
The Cubs actually fail to score in the third, stranding runners on second and third.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 16 2006 07:27 PM |
We're on the board, thanks to a leadoff homer by Woodward in the fourth. 5-1 Cubs.

I'm not worried about El Duque, as we keep getting told we got him for October, I hate hearing that crap, I wouldn't trust him one bit.

Your Tommie Agee! Im envious. Im Barry fargin Lyons.

Good point, the way things are going he (and we) might NOT make it to October!

Looks like Willie will pinch hit for Oliver who's on deck, I'd leave him in for a few more innings.

Bite your tongue. Its always a crappy lil' team like the Cubs that gives a Goliath team like the 2006 Mets a thorn in thier side. Thats all these Cubs are- a thorn in our side.
Edgy DC Jul 16 2006 07:54 PM |
Who is saying this?
metirish Jul 16 2006 07:55 PM |
Joe Morgan said it on Baseball Tonight and I have read it in more than a few articles form Met beat writers since we got him in the trade.

ScarletKnight41 Jul 16 2006 08:09 PM |
Bel-traan.
Rockin' Doc Jul 16 2006 08:10 PM |
Delgado follows with a single. Beltran at second and Delgado on first with no outs in the top of the sixth. David Wright coming to the plate as the potential tying run.
metirish Jul 16 2006 08:10 PM |
I like how Miller says Beltran's name.

Zvon Jul 16 2006 08:11 PM |

Rockin' Doc Jul 16 2006 08:11 PM |

Well, there you go. Orlando Hernandez was acquired when a series of injuries --- Bannister, Maine, Zambrano, and Fortunato --- left the Mets in need of a pitcher to take a big chunk of innings from their depleted staff, and when October baseball was hardly as likely as it is now. Back to the game. I'm trying to get office work done at home. I glanced at the score after two innings and thought (1) the Mets are going to win anyhow, and (2) "Sean Marshall, Cliff Floyd is going to hurt you."

Jesus H Christ what an inning for the Mets...Wright with a huge bomb, 77 RBI on the season for him.
Rockin' Doc Jul 16 2006 08:34 PM |
Wright goes deep! His is only a paltry 2-run shot.
Johnny Dickshot Jul 16 2006 08:35 PM |
That's the one that gets Dusty Baker fired tomorrow. Way to go.
Edgy DC Jul 16 2006 08:36 PM |
I can't remember the last 11-run inning.
Edgy DC Jul 16 2006 08:38 PM |
It's one thing to get a hit that knocks out the pitcher. It's another to get the hit that knocks out the manager. Dickshot has filed his prediction.
metirish Jul 16 2006 08:39 PM |
Was it against the Braves in 99?, no that was a ten run inning IIRC.

Ah, right. I hate to say so, but you need to come up with an acronym that sticks in people's minds more clearly. We are amusing ourselves at the concept of all of these people sitting and waiting for the ESPY Awards to begin. It serves ESPN right to schedule their self-lovefest immediately after a live sporting event.

Heath Bell, up for Owens and in for Heilman.
