Delgado strikes out with runners on second and third (what's wrong with him lately?) but Wright bails him out with a two-run double.

I dunno- its really tuff to see him letting these opportunities go to waste.
He's got good production numbers, aside from his B.A.slipping down, but he'd be having a monster year if he was a bit more consistant and took advantage of what the tablesetters have given him.

Im sure he'll come around.

Jul 19 2006 07:36 PM

The longer he slumps, the more pain for the team that faces him when he comes out of it.

Damn that Reyes is good, he plates two for a four zip lead...

Johnny Dickshot

I could be spacing big-time, but was Traxxxx's pickoff of Freel in the first the first Met pickoff of the year?

I can't recall any others, but I might be spacing as I said.

Keppinger traded, sez Howie.

Reyes knocks in 2 more on a bloopy single.

Jul 19 2006 07:40 PM

Willie talked a bit about Delgado's slump on M&MD (well, just "M") today. I guess Delgado "knows what he's doing wrong," but he's just having a hard time putting the pieces together. Which means iubitul is right.

HAhaaaaa---I like that one.

Yea,--they say a career .280 hitter will end up hitting around .280 by seasons end, so that should be quite a tear hes gonna go on soon.

I'm watching the game in Ohio. The rain is pooled up on the warning track, and they're digging up the mud with shovels and a backhoe. It seems never to have occurred to the builders of the Great American Ballpark that some sort of drainage system ought to be in place. It certainly looks like they'll be playing, but we could have some slippery fun on balls hit to the wall.

ScarletKnight41
Jul 19 2006 09:04 PM

As they're working on the field, Gary Cohen observes that it isn't raining anywhere else in the country other than in Cincinnati.

The Human Rain Delay must not like long delays between innings. He walks the damn pitcher on four pitches to load the bases with 2 outs.

He needs to regroup and get out of this without giving up any runs.

In one of the early beer polls, I linked to an article discussing Trachsels love of beer. That makes him alright in my book.

I don't think he gets credit for being as effective as he has been during most of his time as a Met (at least since his trip down to Norfolk). He just works so damn slow. It can be frustrating to watch at times.

Way down inside?

No one's
Stoppin' us now
We go down, down
Where the music's loud
(If it's all night!)
Hey that's all right by me!
Go and play on my love
Play it all for me!!!

Life's never easy --- we can make it if we try
Takin' our chances ---face 'em side by side
Live for the moment --- on that we can agree
Come and take me where I long to be!!!!

Take me in your arms!
Roll me through the night!
Take me to your heart!

A time for all...and all in time
A step beyond the borderline
Of who we are and where we long to be...

When every night you hear the sound
Of wakin' up and breakin' down
You find a chance and heave it all away!!!!

Take me in your arms!

Eh might as well stay as long to get Kurt F'n Abbott off of my name. Maybe I should switch to Mlbaseballtalk (BTW did MLBTalk ever post yet here) to get Julio Valera off of that name!

Hey Duaner, No beer for you!

The way this game is going, we may have to keep the beer for ourselves.

D-Day (Bruce McGill): War's over, man. Wormer dropped the big one.
Bluto: Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
Otter (Tim Matheson): [whispering] Germans?
Boon (Peter Riegert): Forget it, he's rolling.
Bluto: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough... [thinks hard] the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go! [runs out, alone; then returns] What the fuck happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer -
Otter: Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.
Bluto: We're just the guys to do it.
D-Day: Let's do it.
Bluto: LET'S DO IT!!

really crappy loss. I went to bed at the rain delay but I had a bad feeling that it was going to end up like that.

I do worry that they've entered into too much of a comfort zone though but I'm probably a bit paranoid about that.

I'm much more worried that the lead getting shrunk to 4/5 games might make Omar go L.O.O.P.Y. and pony up something of value for Livian Hernandez.

Diana is the goddess of the hunt.

I was curious, so I looked up "Diana goddess of love" either in Google or Wikipedia, and found out that there was a Diana goddess of love on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

So maybe our Diana is a Buffy fan.
