The Mets apparently found their missing offense in the time between the two games of the doubleheader. The Mets offense provided Pelfrey an abundance of runs to work with in his first Major League appearance. The offense scored 17 runs on 16 hits and somehow still stranded 9 runners in the game.

Pelfrey, the Mets top draft choice in last season's amateur draft, fought his nerves and his control early on. He later settled down and completed five innings of work to earn his first Major League victory. Hopefully, it will turn out to be his first of many wearing a Mets uniform.

Again from the great state of Maine, our sponsor for this game is Ringwood Brewery. Their aptly named Old Thumper Extra Special Ale seems the perfect choice for this game. So drink up, one and all, you earned it in this game.
