This game was going well until the home half of the sixth inning when the bottom suddenly dropped out on the Mets. Tom Glavine pitched pretty well for the Mets, but Carlos Zambrano was even better for the Cubs. The Cubs bullpen definitely outperformed their New York counterparts.

The Mets offense never really got itself going. The Mets lone offensive rally came in the sixth inning and yielded two runs, but it fizzled out when the Mets failed to capitalize on the promise of the inning.

Today's game is aptly sponsored by the Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery in downtown Chicago. Their Uppa Kriek Without A Mash Paddle Ale is the perfect post game drink for today's game. So drink up, get some rest, and come back tomorrow ready to win the deciding game of the series.

I had accidently hit the submit button while doing the poll. Luckily, it was on the first player (Chavez) and I was able to edit the post and add the poll in.

Small miracle actually, since I have never been able to edit or amend a poll before.
