YKYNPFBTYW you didn't know Jacque Jones was on the Cubs.
Elster88 Jul 24 2006 07:20 PM |
Keef calling Ramirez out for not running hard on Jones' double. He says it drives your teammates crazy.
Elster88 Jul 24 2006 07:21 PM |
The first few rows behind the plate are pretty empty.

The name Maddux still instills fear in this poster.

Not sure who Keith was talking about, I think it's Maddux, but he said if [pitcher] got pissed that players were trying to jerk home runs then he'd start breaking bats on purpose by throwing sinkers in on the hands.
SteveJRogers Jul 24 2006 07:32 PM |
OE: DAMN PHOTOBUCKET RESIZER
Elster88 Jul 24 2006 07:34 PM |
Ball off the right field wall gets away from Jones, but Lo Duca was watching to see if it would be caught and was held by Acta. Probably the right call.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 24 2006 07:34 PM |
Delgado's 2-RBI single cuts the deficit to 3-2 Cubs in the first.

SteveJRogers Jul 24 2006 07:34 PM |
ScarletKnight41 Jul 24 2006 07:34 PM |
Mr. Wright's single brings us runners on the corners.
Elster88 Jul 24 2006 07:34 PM |
Pierre gets to Wright's ball very nicely in left-center to hold him to a single.
Elster88 Jul 24 2006 07:35 PM |
Delgado's 2 run single was a looper placed nicely.

Elster88 Jul 24 2006 07:38 PM |
Horrible turn by Perez, fell off the base as he was throwing, and [shortstop] didn't charge it in the first place. Bang-bang at first that Floyd wins. Shoulda been a DP. Maddux was coming off the mound on the hit, but after watching the play he kind of threw up his arm. Not a happy man.
Zvon Jul 24 2006 07:40 PM |

TransMonk Jul 24 2006 07:43 PM |
I voted no...I came in right as the top of the 1st inning was ending.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 24 2006 07:43 PM |
It turns out that Pierre was automatically out for hitting the ball twice.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 24 2006 07:44 PM |
Mr. Wright tags out Perez for the third out :)

We're pretty fortunate that the ex-ballplayers from the Mets were and are well-spoken intelligent individuals.

What, not to sound completely nuts (They're coming to take me away, HA HA!) but this team has all the warning signs of the aforementioned and other collapses through the years. You could give me that shred. Small shred, but untill the Braves are 20 out, I'm not discounting them

Elster88 Jul 24 2006 10:24 PM |
The Met fans as a whole shouldn't snub their noses at Yank fans for booing ARod. They were booing Beltran after like one game....including some folks on this site, IIRC.

Zvon Jul 24 2006 11:00 PM |
Well, you have to fill 500 somehow. I was really just jokin - its all good. I cant wait till I finally crack the top 50 and get a CPF avatar.... Seriously, I cant wait-- lets avatar the top 100 edgey! lol.
Johnny Dickshot Jul 24 2006 11:38 PM |
My winning streak -- like Trachsel's -- had to end someday. Took in the game along with the CPF's own FK in nice seats on a comfortable night with lots of Action. Not only do aluminum bottles keep your beer xtrra cold, they make terrific noisemakers when smashed against the box railing. I smashed the rail on my Mezz box until it turned back into blue.
Frayed Knot Jul 24 2006 11:47 PM |

What warning signs? They win 8 out of 10 and then lose two in a row? You seem to want a collapse, so that you can enjoy agonizing over it for the rest of your life. I think that's something you can discuss with your therapist on your own time. We don't need to keep seeing Thumb Boy pounding the panic button.
Elster88 Jul 25 2006 09:24 AM |
You would still be panicking if they were 20 out.
Edgy DC Jul 25 2006 09:30 AM |
"Hi, we're the Pirates, the key player we got back for Aramis Ramirez was Bobby Hill.
SteveJRogers Jul 25 2006 09:43 AM |
Heh, guess I'm sounding too much like a Red Sox fan huh. Think I'm just looking at this year as a, well anomaly is too strong of a word since natural progression should suggest that this was coming, but it does seem more like a team thats playing over its projected average than say the 1986 team which was great before and after 1986. Or maybe I just want a decent September race so I don't have to worry about how rough of a schedule the Giants have early on! =;)
Johnny Dickshot Jul 25 2006 09:49 AM |
Projected?
Yancy Street Gang Jul 25 2006 09:52 AM |
No, they're not the 1986 Mets. They may very well be eliminated in the first round because their pitching isn't as good as we'd like.
SteveJRogers Jul 25 2006 09:58 AM |

I'd enjoy it better when we burn through Atlanta ala General Sherman this weekend!
