ElDouque lookin a lil rocky in the 1st.

Chase Utley comes to the plate.

Johnny Dickshot
Aug 04 2006 07:19 PM

Don't.
Know.

Duke with btb walks to start 'er off.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 07:21 PM

Got Chase to chase a high fastball.

Strikes him out!

The dangerous Ryan Howard up.
This kids having a phanominal year.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 07:23 PM

As Ryan goes down on a questionable strike 3 looking, Phils pull off a double steal.
2nd and 3rd, 2 out for Rowand.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 07:24 PM

And after that dubious start ElDouque comes back to strike out the side in the 1st.

Nice.....

Wolfs back and has an okay 1st for the Phils.

Mets did have an opportunity, with a LoDuke single and Beltran walk, but a struggling David Wright Ks to end the inning.

Nice link there JD.
Hey!-Whered they get my picture from?

Zvon

Two singles and a sac fly by pitcher Wolf.

Phils take a 1-0 lead.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 07:49 PM

In other Met news: The New York Mets placed reserve catcher Ramon Castro on the disabled list today because of a strained side muscle.
Catcher Mike DiFelice was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk.

In other MLB news: Xavier Nady went 4-for-5 for the Pirates in Chicago Friday, including three doubles off Carlos Zambrano.
Andruw Jones was claimed off of waivers by an unnamed team.
The Braves have until 1 p.m. ET Saturday to choose whether to trade him to another team.

My problem is Im such a slow two finger typer I find myself always looking down at the keys.

I just love how this kid plays the game.
Not just his hustle- his knowledge of the game. His intensity.
His team attitude.
And the way he just flew out lazily to left center.

If I knew how to type with 8 fingers, I wouldnt forget.
Ive tried too---to me its harder than playing piano.

Howard reaches on a soft single, but O. Hernandez ends the 3rd picking up his 4th strikeout off of Rowand.

1-0 Phils-middle of the third.

Lets get something going guys.

Warewolf - consider a Sidekick. Best...Toy...EVER!!!

The trip is good, thanks. The game here is just getting ready to start. We were at the 16-8 blowout Wednesday. Looper....

It's albert Pujols t-shirt night - the boys are happy with their new shirts.

Took a riverboat cruise. Saw Iubitul's name at the Bowling HOF. Toured the brewery. It's all good.

I won't type much now that the game is on, but I'll be reading for updates.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 08:12 PM

Reyes with a chopping grounder up the middle.
Utley makes a fine efort with a bare handed grab and throw to first-
the throw is offline and Reyes beats it.

And LoDuca is walked.

1st and 2nd, one out-
Beltran up.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 08:15 PM

BELTRAAN DRIVES IT OFF THE WALL!

Pulls up with a double, driving in Reyes easily.
This game is tied.
2nd and 3rd--still only 1 out.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 08:18 PM

Delgado flies out to left and LoDuca tags from third.

Mets take the lead.

The Phils will intentionally walk David Wright.

Aug 04 2006 08:28 PM

For the Phils:
Victorino doubles to right- sacrificed to third by Lieberthal and....

ElDouque balks in the run.

And its 2-2, Mets.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 08:31 PM

O.Hernandez with his second balk of the inning.....

Moves Nunez (who singled and advanced on Wolfs groundout) over to third.

A Boy Named Seo
Aug 04 2006 08:34 PM

Thanks, Monk.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 08:34 PM

And he Ks Rollins--whew.

ElDouques not sure what he did to constitute those balks, and he better learn what it was.
I could see he balked--Rollins jumped out of the batter box--he could see.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 08:37 PM

OHHHH!--what a play by Utley on the foul pop off Woodward.

He overran the ball but thrust himself backwards to make the lunging grab.

Aug 04 2006 08:38 PM

Fucking WOW, a triple for El Duque.....I love this game.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 08:41 PM

El Douque hits a triple!

He drives it off the wall in left- Delucci tried to pull a Rowand and crashed into the wall nose first.
And O. Hernandez looked pitiful at the plate until his eyes lit up and he drove that changeup--I thought it was gone.
Looked like it was about 2 feet short of clearing the fence.

Theres 2 out, and Reyes is up.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 08:42 PM

And Reyes drives him in with a bloop single!

Yeaaa baby.

Aug 04 2006 08:44 PM

Great to see the reaction El Duque got from his mates in the dugout....Reyes steals second, 45th steal of the season.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 08:46 PM

Reyes notches his 45th steal of the season.

LoDuca drives a grounder into the hole at short, and Rollins cant get a handle on it.

LoDuke on frist, Reyes on third- 2 outs.

Beltraan.

Iubitul
Aug 04 2006 08:49 PM

Rollins saved a run with that kick-save.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 08:50 PM

Beltran pops out weakly to center.

So the Mets squeeze out a run, taking full advantage of ElDouques 2 out triple.

3-2 - Good Guys.

on edit--Ill save that graphic.

DAMN!

Delucci was running on the pitch and he comes all the way around to score.

3-3, Mets.

True, but I am wondering if Utley was doing to keep the hit streak going, Reyes does that a lot, I wonder how many times Chase has done that this season.

Thats really not his M.O.

Tied at three through five innings.

Time to score a few runs.

Delgado flies out to start the inning.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 09:10 PM

David Wright up with 1 out in the 5th-

Draws a walk.

Phillys broadcast shows a really neat 3-d preview of the Mets future stadium. They gave that more time than I would have expected and, also unexpectedly, say they surely will miss Shea Staduim when its gone.
How about that?

Floyd hits it straight up the chute and pops out foul to the Phils catcher Lieberthal-
Woody works an at bat but ends the inning by lifting a tall fly out to center.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 09:18 PM

ElDouque throws an Efuss pitch! (Ive never tried or had to spell Efuss b4-spellCHK)

A softball speed looping change up that Nunez waves at and misses foolishly for strike three.

Thats seven Ks for O'Hernandez.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 09:26 PM

Thats all for O'Hernandez tonight.
Valentin will pinch hit.

And he promptly lines a single to center.

One out (Lastings Kd)-

Reyes follows with a single thru the hole into right.

Val almost is caught off second on the turn, but gets back.

1 out-2 on-
LoDuca.....

Yea, and him laughing while talking in the dugout, as LoDuke hits into the force at second.
Hes one happy camper, ElDouque.

How about earlier, before his triple--he looked so bad at the plate Pedro Martinez came to the dugout steps and held out what looked to be a plastic bat with the Mets logo on it.
Then he hits the triple...lol.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 09:34 PM

Madson Ks Betraan and he leaves two on.
Dagnabbitt.

Utley will bat this half against Oliver.

Johnny Dickshot
Aug 04 2006 09:38 PM

Is it just me or does Delucci just murder the Mets?

If you read the papers the last few weeks you'd be sure he'd be traded, and it's a shame he wasn't.

If he does go, I'll take on on our side. Bastard.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 09:38 PM

pooppaddies!

Oliver gives up a homer to Delucci leading off the inning.

And Utley grounds a hard one up the middle, and Valentin makes a fine play, possibly robbing him of a single. Thats debatable--of course the Phils anouncers paint it that way.

It was a really nice play by Val.

Ill have to look that up....

One triple, one homer, 3 RBIs, all off of Hielman.
Was 0-fer-2 against Oliver before tonight.

Johnny Dickshot

Yeah, Delucci I suspect is one of those guys who only hits while I'm watching. Though I do recall him beating the Mets cruelly with a HR one time when he was with Arizona and I was at Shea.

Zvon
Aug 04 2006 09:46 PM

CarlosD moves up an Wrights line flyout to right.

damn---the throw by Victorino beat Delgado to third by a mile, but was way off line.
That was a lil scary.

Floyd can tie the game here.

I seem to remember a game I was at, at Shea, when Willie Randolf did that to the Mets as a Dodger in either 87 or 89, and it basically knocked the Mets out of the race that season.
Im a lil fuzzy on everything except the sick feeling I got in my stomach as the ball sailed over the fence.

Feliciano on to pitch.
And Wrights error allows Victorino to reach first safely leading off the inning.

Burrell is intentionall walked and Rollins is hit by a pitch.

The Phils have the bases loaded, two out.
