This is not a KTE, and if I'm stepping on anybody's KTE toes, let me know. I thought this deserved its own topic.

I like it. Let's shut him down.

Joe Dimaggio is a much prettier name.

Maybe. But Chase Utley's name is a sentence.

I was at Shea when Rose came into town in the midst of his streak in JUly '78. Saw Zachry give up a coupla hits to extend the streak to 37 which I believe either tied or broke Tommy Holmes NL record.

Considering he's carrying my fantasy team right now, I want him to triple into the gap with nobody on base every time up, but get thrown out at the plate trying to stretch each and every one into an inside-the-parker.
|

I beg you.
|
Vic Sage Aug 04 2006 12:21 PM |
ok, Edge. I guess i shouldn't mention i've got him on 2 fantasy teams, then.
|

Vic= seawolf17?
|
MFS62 Aug 04 2006 12:45 PM |
|
Nope. from their posts, wolf said he had him on one team, Vic said he had him on two. Do they look that much alike to you? Later
|
Vic Sage Aug 04 2006 01:00 PM |
but Vic and Seawolf are both SUNY SB alums... so maybe we ARE the same person!
|
seawolf17 Aug 04 2006 01:01 PM |
We do both have a Stony Brook connection... Vic's an alum, I'm a hired gun.
|
Vic Sage Aug 04 2006 01:06 PM |
oh, i thought you were an alum, too.
|
Edgy DC Aug 04 2006 01:18 PM |
Vic, I think, also went there befoe they were Seawolves. They were the Stony Brook Lucky Guys or womething.

There's a Jimmy Buffet reference in this thread's title, isn't there?

Seems more Frank Capra to me.

I was at one of these games-- Rose had no hits and laid down a bunt for a hit in his last at bat. Im thinkin 38th but im really not sure. I dont see Chase bunting just for the sake of a hit, ala Rose. I hope Utley keeps it going, but with a 2 out single that leaves him stranded. What I dont want to see is him scoring any runs.

Well that sucks. Utley's streak ends AND the Phillies beat the Mets. I would of prefferred the opposite.

I do, or at least I did. Well he tried anyway.

I started this thread and give him the kiss of death. I was kind of hoping it would last a little longer.
