Schaefer Mets Player of the Month: July 2006

Congratulations, and a big frosty mug of Schaefer beer, to July's player of the month: CARLOS BELTRAN.

This is Carlos' second time winning the Player of the Month award this season. Beltran won decisively, beating out runner-up Jose Valentin by almost ten points.

For the second month in a row, we have a first-time winner in the Schaefer Mets Pitcher of the Month sweepstakes. It's John Maine, who is in danger of dropping from the rotation just like last month's winner, Alay Soler, did. Is there a Pitcher of the Month jinx?

What a beating.

Great job as always. I'm curious as to the top all time months in Schaefer history. I guess to figure that out I'd just look at all the past threads.

Apples and oranges to compare last year and this. Only one of the top 8 is from 2006. David Wright had one hell of a June.

The big difference is probably that more overall points were awarded in 2005 because of the 10-point requirement.
