IGT 8-15-06 Mets at Phillies, time to Walk The Line

SteveJRogers
Aug 15 2006 06:18 PM

I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because you're mine, I walk the line

I find it very, very easy to be true
I find myself alone when each day is through
Yes, I'll admit that I'm a fool for you
Because you're mine, I walk the line

As sure as night is dark and day is light
I keep you on my mind both day and night
And happiness I've known proves that it's right
Because you're mine, I walk the line

You've got a way to keep me on your side
You give me cause for love that I can't hide
For you I know I'd even try to turn the tide
Because you're mine, I walk the line

I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because you're mine, I walk the line

One pitch form Wolf and Reyes hits a home run, Lo Duca follows with a hit.

That 'Drop-the-Pop' play is NOT legal if the umps deem it to be intentional.
Correct call though as no one's that good an actor.

Zvon
Aug 15 2006 07:12 PM

Did you see that?!

Heads up by Utley but I do think Delgado beat the throw to 1st.
What a wacky play.

Zvon
Aug 15 2006 07:16 PM

Phils talk right back with a long ball from Victorino.

1-1

Keith reckons Burrell is in the dog house with Manuel, Hernandez gives up a 3 run homer....who's the long man tonight?

Zvon
Aug 15 2006 07:20 PM

And the Phils wont stop yakkin-
Dellucci a 3 run blast.

4-1

Burrell has been hittin lately, but he still sucks.

Good question-
Heilman?
Bradford?

I think cuzza yesteday with Pedro only going one they are gonna milk ElDouque for as long as they can no matter what.
My bet is he settles down.

Zvon
Aug 15 2006 07:40 PM

UGH.
Milledge--I KNOW you have a nice arm....
Cripes--
he cant catch that liner, which i could have snagged,
and then he comes up throwing a rope to nowhere allowing Rollins to get to second--
And then he runs a bad route to the fly by Victorino and he clears the bases with a triple...ugh.

]Mets manager Willie Randolph said Martinez left for New York and would be examined Tuesday. Randolph wanted to wait until he had test results to determine if Martinez would make his next start.

Fair enough, I guess. Thanks, Zvon.

No game on Comcast tonight for me.

Zvon
Aug 15 2006 08:10 PM

Hard to believe the Phils just past the Mets in runs scored for this season.
But thats what they are sayin.

They have also homered in 14 straight games.
Who needs Bobby Abreu?

The latest news Gary had was that he had the MRI and that the Doctors wanted to re-evaluate it in the next few days, no more tests scheduled.

np--there might be more recent word, but I cant find it.
Listed day to day.

Phils announcers state that shoddy right field play is the reason the Phils have the commanding lead.

cooby

Those Phils announcers are shooting from the hip this series!

LOL--they are.
They are going on about how Milledge is playing way to deep.

They also went on to say the way the Mets have played, and with the lead they have in the NL East, they can afford a lull like this.
And thats tru, thank the Gods of baseball.

Our two corner outfielders look kinda lost tongiht, Woodie should have had that even though it's scored a hit.

Yep--and that pesky Utley embarrasses him by tagging from second to third on that flyout to Woody in the gap--

UGH!
And then Chase tags and scores on a shallow fly to Woodward.....

oh my.

I'm just glad that the mets have such a lead as these two last games remind me of what it was like the last few seasons watching another bad year, at least we're going to the postseason.....I think....

11 earned runs on Hernandez tonight..ouch.

Zvon
Aug 15 2006 08:29 PM

And Lieberthal, of all people, smacks one to the deepest part of the ballpark, off the tall section of the centerfield wall---misplayed as it bounces off and in between Beltraans legs, getting away from him.

Felicianos up in the pen.

11-2 Pills.

Unfreakinbelievable.

If the Mets folded.....
well, it would be the kind of baseball history I would want no part of.

But they have some things they have to address..........

I wish Willie would sit Delgado for a series, not to punish but to replenish him.

Not a bad idea-- Wright too, who just dont seem to be seeing the ball well.
Lotta Ks lately.
And I like how Willie went to the mound when Wagner was a lil shakey the other night.
Time for certain (and not desperate) measures.

Felicianos in-and gives a lead off walk up to the pitcher Wolf.
Oy.

Zvon
Aug 15 2006 08:43 PM

Great play by Wright on that chopper down the line--turns it into an easy double play.
Nice.

Interesting that Keith opined that maybe David Wright could unstretch his
schedule a tad (if not completely 'til offseason) with all the good stuff he does
on behalf of himself and the Mets. Gary quickly clammed up and Keith changed
directions and said he was strictly talking about his personal experience and needing
his sleep and routine - interesting (if only a stretch between the lines) take by 17.

Keith has a great point.
Very interesting perspective.

Aug 15 2006 08:55 PM

Keith made some interesting comments,of course he also said he hated doing that kinda stuff especially as it got in the way of his prep for the game,he liked to sleep till noon and leave for the part around 3:30, from what I have read Wright is at the park by noon.

I think he meant unclutter his schedule--free it up.
Just focus on what he should be doing on the field.

Chavez to LF and Woodie to 3rd,RHernandez into pitch .

Zvon
Aug 15 2006 09:13 PM

Willie doesnt want us talking about David anymore tonight--he pulled him.

Woody moves to third-Chavez in left.

Hernandez in to pitch.
