I've been on tenterhooks
ending in dirty looks,
list'ning to the Muzak,
thinking 'bout this 'n' that.
She said that's that.
I don't wanna chitter-chat.
Turn it down a little bit
or turn it down flat.

Pump it up when you don't really need it.
Pump it up until you can feel it.

Down in the pleasure centre,
hell bent or heaven sent,
listen to the propaganda,
listen to the latest slander.
There's nothing underhand
that she wouldn't understand.

Pump it up until you can feel it.
Pump it up when you don't really need it.

She's been a bad girl.
She's like a chemical.
Though you try to stop it,
she's like a narcotic.
You wanna torture her.
You wanna talk to her.
All the things you bought for her,
putting up your temp'rature.

Pump it up until you can feel it.
Pump it up when you don't really need it.

Out in the fashion show,
down in the bargain bin,
you put your passion out
under the pressure pin.
Fall into submission,
hit-and-run transmission.
No use wishing now for any other sin.

Pump it up until you can feel it.
Pump it up when you don't really need it.

When Milledge first got called up and was throwing guys out left and right I thought he would be a stud in the outfield. Now I'm relieved that the 3.2-run handicap that comes when he is in the lineup is avoided today.

Oh Glavine, why?

Hit batsmen kill.

This game blows....

Ugly, Delgado. U-G-L-Y.

Aug 16 2006 07:58 PM

Walked away to go brush my teeth, stopped in here to read IGT, sounds like I might not want to go back to TV

TransMonk
Aug 16 2006 07:58 PM

The strikezone is as big as a barn door tonight.

metirish
Aug 16 2006 07:59 PM

Not a bad idea Cooby, this team has no life in it right now.....

cooby
Aug 16 2006 08:01 PM

Maybe I'll go gargle, too

metirish
Aug 16 2006 08:10 PM

Valentin with an infield hit, Mets third of the night.....

Gary says that Strawberry will be at the celabration Saturday night.

I wonder if Straw wondered if he might get boooed.

Elster88
Aug 16 2006 08:32 PM

Nobody's watching the game tonight.

metirish
Aug 16 2006 08:34 PM

3 nothing Phills, would be worse except for a nice play by Beltran.....

TransMonk
Aug 16 2006 08:37 PM

I'm watching...not sure why.

Oh, yeah. My wife's watching So You Think You Can Dance.

This piece of crap is marginally better than that piece of crap.

cooby
Aug 16 2006 08:39 PM

Poor Scarlet's at the game

KC

It's all Gillian's fault ... never trust a Rickman.

cooby
Aug 16 2006 08:48 PM

I ordered some log home stain from him; I hope that I did the right thing.

This is the same crap we did last time against Leiber. He's supposedly a sinker-ball pitcher but we're forever popping him up.

We got fortunate w/his error last game.
No such luck this time so far.

metirish
Aug 16 2006 08:54 PM

Nice bunt single by Chavez....Leiber with a low pitch count will probably go nine,Ledee pinch hits for Glavine.

Reyes misses a lot of catchable line-drives.
Either he fumbles them like he just did there or justmisses them with poorly-timed lunges and leaps.
It's one of the things that I think is keeping him from being an elite defensive SS. He's got the tools to be one, but he isn't yet.

metirish
Aug 16 2006 09:07 PM

Well that about sums up this trip, LoDuca just hits one foul....

Frayed Knot
Aug 16 2006 09:09 PM

The 'NOFFENSE' has returned.

Johnny Dickshot
Aug 16 2006 09:11 PM

Evidently, this is getting worse before it'll get better.

metirish
Aug 16 2006 09:11 PM

Well this sucks, Leiber with a complete game five hitter,100 pitches...great work from him but the Mets offence is MIA.

TransMonk
Aug 16 2006 09:12 PM

This team couldn't win a Little League World Series regional playoff game right now.

Aug 16 2006 09:22 PM

I thought if I shutup our luck would change.
Nope.

This is embarraskin'

It was a rough game to sit through. At least it was a mercifully quick one.

Turkey Hill ice cream and the knowledge that we still had a 12 game lead helped get MK through the night.

cooby
Aug 16 2006 11:29 PM

Turkey Hill ice cream was 2 for $5.00 at Weis's last week. You could have stayed home and saved time and money.

Didn't see you on TV either

cooby
Aug 17 2006 12:25 PM

It is with some trepidation that I just entered the Turkey Hill ice cream sweepstakes to win a giant cow.

If I win, MK is getting it.

MFS62
Aug 17 2006 12:30 PM

If the Met fortunes don't turn around quickly, we're all gonna' have a cow.

Later

cooby
Aug 17 2006 12:33 PM

Have a Cow! Feeling lucky? If you're the grand prize winner, our 13-foot tall, 2-ton giant cow could be moooving in with you! Forever. Or, in the unlikely event that you're not interested in a mammoth bovine lawn ornament, you could opt for a giant pile of cow cash valued at $18,750. Either way, we'll throw a big birthday bash, with you as the guest of honor, featuring our Giant Cow and Turkey Hill ice cream and drinks for your friends and family

Or maybe I'll keep the cash...

ScarletKnight41
Aug 17 2006 02:38 PM

If you keep the cow, you could always send a pint or two of cookie dough ice cream to MK - he'd enjoy that :)

cooby
Aug 17 2006 02:59 PM

I put your address on the entry, cow to be delivered straight to you, heheh

ScarletKnight41
Aug 17 2006 03:01 PM

The neighbors would definitely talk.

cooby
Aug 17 2006 03:01 PM

A 13 foot tall cow? That'd be jealous talk!

ScarletKnight41
Aug 17 2006 03:04 PM

Above I had meant to say that you could keep the cash and send MK some ice cream.

I could see D-Dad thinking that a 13-foot cow would be great for tailgate parties.

Here she is visiting the Phillies.

If MK wins her, he's gotta ditch the Phillies cap

ScarletKnight41
Aug 17 2006 03:21 PM

She wasn't there last night.

MK would be more than happy to replace that cap with a better one :)
