It was after 2:15 that I was banned. Got unbanned around 4, without even asking for unbanishment. I figured it was just a glitch in the cleanup process.

I banned a couple of ip addresses before I did a final pre-2:15 PM backup. One ip address was signed on over fifty times and the other around a dozen. I don't know why Elster's internet connection does this (if that's what hap- penned, but it sounds like it is) and if so that was my doing. Backups go easier and quicker when the google spiders and some Japanese search engine spiders and other instances are disabled temporarily and that's why I try to do them early in the morning or late at night.
