Steve Trachsel gave the Mets a strong start and then turned the game over to the revamped bullpen which again slammed the door on the Nationals. The Mets bullpen dominated the Nationals hitters throughout the Washington series, combining for a line of 8 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 10 K, and 1 BB. Now that's what I call relief.

Veteran call up, Michael Tucker, broke a 1-1 tie game with a dramatic pinch hit home run in the eighth inning. It was the first home run of the season by the little used Tucker, but it came at an oppurtune time for the Mets. Throw in some great defense from Jose Valentin and Carlos Delgado and the Mets hang on for another series victory.

No expense is spared for our team, so we have flown in a case of Kokanee Glacier beer from Creston, British Columbia. Just the thing to celebrate another smooth Mets victory.

I'm going with Tucker.

Thanks Michael, now have a seat on the bench.

How could my vote go to anyone other than the workmanlike Steve Trachsel?

Trax.

This is a tough call, but I'll give it to Trachsel for a strong 6+ innings of work. Without his efforts, Tucker's home run may not have meant much.
