Fun reading through this thread. When I logged on to check on the score, we were trailing 4-3. After doing some work and putting together a POTG Poll for last night's game I look and see that we now lead by a 11-5 score. I love these type of moments.

Wrights not knockin the cover off the ball lately and I thought that intentional walk to him was a questionable move- but only cuz I wanted to see them pitch to him so he could knock the cover off the ball. He decided to walk Valentin too. Dont he know this lineup has no holes in it anymore? Thanks Charlie!

Burrell is getting worse and worse in the field as time goes by- and when he first came up he was only adequate. Both walks were understandable (even if there were 2 outs some managers may have walked Wright there) - I just enjoy seeing an opposing managers strategy backfire. I say questionable only because I would have gone after him there, myself (but Im no manager, thats for sure). Woulda pitched him off the plate tho, with nothing to hit. Wright was swinging at pitches outta the zone all night. He's pressing. If he took em for balls, he gets 1st. Or maybe I get a cheap K. In any case--I still thank Charles.

I actually think that, overall, Burrell's defense has improved over the last couple of years. But that play last night was vintage Pat - he just couldn't get a bead on it at all.
