TransMonk Aug 29 2006 08:22 PM Re: IGT 8/29 - Mets at Rockies |

I am very confident with that as a playoff lineup.

Beltran with home run, a monster shot for a career high 39 homers....hey anyone else having problems in here tonight?
TransMonk Aug 29 2006 09:12 PM |
A little bit...it comes and goes.

Wright gets one to drop in right, Delgado scores.

Standing O for Kazzy in DC.
metirish Aug 29 2006 09:21 PM |
Kaz with a hit and is now 8 for 18 since getting called up.
Edgy DC Aug 29 2006 09:21 PM |
That's it, Kaz. No more cheers for you in DC.
Edgy DC Aug 29 2006 09:22 PM |
He looks good with the short hair.
dinosaur jesus Aug 29 2006 09:28 PM |
Is Oliver warming up yet?
MFS62 Aug 29 2006 09:31 PM |
Somebody ought to tell Traschell that he can relax - his balls have been humidified.
TransMonk Aug 29 2006 09:43 PM |
Hey BK...walks kill.
metirish Aug 29 2006 09:43 PM |
Holy crap,Reyes with a two run opposite field home run.....yeah it's Coors filed but still.

Reyes now has as many home runs this month as he had all last year.
Johnny Dickshot Aug 29 2006 09:50 PM |
How badly has Reyes already bludgeoned the "best seasons by a Met SS" mark?
dinosaur jesus Aug 29 2006 09:55 PM |
Jose now slugging .493. Who'd have guessed.
Willets Point Aug 29 2006 10:00 PM |
Kaz Matsui as a Met seems a long, long, long time ago.
ScarletKnight41 Aug 29 2006 10:07 PM |
Trax is in trouble. It's now 4-3, with Rockies on 2nd and 3rd and nobody out :(
ScarletKnight41 Aug 29 2006 10:15 PM |
Whew - Trax got out of the ugly inning maintaining a 4-3 lead!
dinosaur jesus Aug 29 2006 10:15 PM |
I appreciate how Trachsel works out of trouble. I'd just be a lot happier if he didn't get into so much trouble.
Edgy DC Aug 29 2006 10:17 PM |
Well, his modest 2005 was the standard, and he's exceeded that even if he plays the rest of the season barefoot and without a glove. Steve Trachsel is a superhero. A little Clark Kent, a little Superman.
TransMonk Aug 29 2006 10:21 PM |
The Rockies TV crew is pretty good. I've come to dread road games with MLB TV...but these guys seem knowledgable and realistic about their ballclub. A far cry from most homer announcers.
Edgy DC Aug 29 2006 10:24 PM |
... whoever they are. I more or less agree.
metirish Aug 29 2006 10:28 PM |
Keith is a bloody blast, talking about tough guys in baseball he says he used to worry about the guy coming in form the pen trying to hit from behind in the pile of players in the scrum...Keith don't ever change.
TransMonk Aug 29 2006 10:29 PM |
Looks like Drew Goodman and George Frazier.
Edgy DC Aug 29 2006 10:37 PM |
Frazier's not there, because they were talking about him.
ScarletKnight41 Aug 29 2006 10:38 PM |
Reyes just missed his second KaBoom of the evening!
Edgy DC Aug 29 2006 10:39 PM |
Jose, Schaefer called. They're out.
Willets Point Aug 29 2006 10:40 PM |
Hooray-es for Reyes!
Edgy DC Aug 29 2006 10:45 PM |
Kimmy isn't checking the runners.
metirish Aug 29 2006 10:46 PM |
Wright comes through with a two run triple....good lad David.
ScarletKnight41 Aug 29 2006 10:46 PM |
Yes David! Way to get pissed off at the intentional walk to Delgado!
Edgy DC Aug 29 2006 10:47 PM |
His inside-out swing may be coming back.
Frayed Knot Aug 29 2006 10:50 PM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on Aug 29 2006 10:52 PM |
Not the greatest swings by Wright - but he/I'll take the two knocks and 3 ribeyes.
ScarletKnight41 Aug 29 2006 10:51 PM |
Mr. Green drives home Mr. Wright to make it 7-3.
ScarletKnight41 Aug 29 2006 10:52 PM |
Everyone hits - Woo Hoo!
Frayed Knot Aug 29 2006 10:52 PM |
Does that mean he's got a six-pointed head?
Frayed Knot Aug 29 2006 10:59 PM |
"Hi, I'm Steve Trachsel and I'll be putting your leadoff runners on base today"
Edgy DC Aug 29 2006 11:02 PM |
Two more outs and we'll be official and the King of Run Support will again be the pitcher of record.
Edgy DC Aug 29 2006 11:05 PM |
Groin pain for LoDuca.
metirish Aug 29 2006 11:05 PM |
Not for nothing but the way Gary is talking about Trax you'd think he's fucking terrible, yeah he has a shit ERA and gets great run support but you know what he's a winning pitcher...leave Trax alone.
TransMonk Aug 29 2006 11:08 PM |
I agree...there's something about him that makes the offense go. Maybe it's luck, but there's no denying it's a winning combo.
Edgy DC Aug 29 2006 11:10 PM |
We go to the sixth. One more half inning for me, then it's off to bed with Ben Franklin.
metirish Aug 29 2006 11:11 PM |
Or maybe it's the guys in the feild thinking I fucking hate this guy lets get some runs so we can get him out by the sixth inning..who cares becuase he wins.
Johnny Dickshot Aug 29 2006 11:19 PM |
Hey, it's Beat The Living Crap Out Of Tom Martin Night!
Frayed Knot Aug 29 2006 11:20 PM |
I don't think Brad Hawpe is winning a gold glove anytime soon.
metirish Aug 29 2006 11:20 PM |
Jesus Christ this Mets team is scary, Mets up10 to 3..guys I have a great and wonderful feeling about this team....now with Wright getting some cheap hits this team is sick, imagine if Floyd can come back and hit we might have Green hitting eight....scary.
Edgy DC Aug 29 2006 11:22 PM |
Hit it to Hawpe. He turns base hits into triples. Martin is fun. A lefty who can't get lefties out.
TransMonk Aug 29 2006 11:22 PM |
Through 5 and one third innings for the Mets:
ScarletKnight41 Aug 29 2006 11:28 PM |
It's only fair - he pitched that crappily when he was a Met.
Frayed Knot Aug 29 2006 11:33 PM |
So how many times is Keith going to mispronounce "humidor" tonight?
ScarletKnight41 Aug 29 2006 11:37 PM |
Hawpe is going to have to leave the ballpark in disguise tonight, or risk being stoned to death by the Rockies fans.
TransMonk Aug 29 2006 11:43 PM |
Plain old ugly at bat by Reyes to end the 7th. Swung in front of three breaking balls. Pulling his head on everyone. That'll cost him some Schaefer here.
metirish Aug 29 2006 11:46 PM |
Those at bats used to be common for Reyes, not this year though, give him his suds.
ScarletKnight41 Aug 30 2006 12:25 AM |
Heilman is struggling in mop-up duty, but Colorado is down to its final out with a 5 run deficit.
ScarletKnight41 Aug 30 2006 12:26 AM |
In a perfect topping to his night, Hawpe strikes out to end the game.
Edgy DC Aug 30 2006 09:32 AM |
Apparently, all we had to do with Matsui was farm him out for a spell. Did he look like a big-league offensive player out there or what?
Yancy Street Gang Aug 30 2006 09:45 AM |
It would be hard to argue that the Mets gave up on Kaz too soon, though.
Edgy DC Aug 30 2006 10:12 AM |
Yeah, of course. You wish there was a better answer than "He needed a change of scenery," but sometimes that's all the wisdom you got. And even if he got it together, it's hard to argue that he would have been more productive than Valentin has been. He was poking it to left with the bat control of Tony Gwynn, and timing his steals with that karate chop thing. His first steal was on a high-and-outside pitch, a golden pitch for Lo Duca to throw, and Paulie was right on the money, but he had a great jump on Trax. Maybe thin air is his scene or something. But, as sour as it'd turn that trade, I hope he tears the (non-Met) league apart. Unless he somehow ends up on the Yankees. How bad is for your team when the announcers are answering e-mails all night? And who is vetting the questions when many of them are based on the false premises of viewers who don't know the rules?
Willets Point Aug 30 2006 10:24 AM |
Do you think every game is like that or is Tuesday Rockies Mailbag Night? For some reason I kind of liked it. Different from the usual commentators pulling stuff out of their asses or showing cute kids in the stands at least.
Edgy DC Aug 30 2006 10:28 AM |
I liked it too. Although I didn't like that "If Frazier was here, he could tell you all about the spitball, heh heh."
Frayed Knot Aug 30 2006 10:34 AM |
Are we talking about the same George Fraizer who was the only honest man to lose 3 games in the same World Series?
Edgy DC Aug 30 2006 10:39 AM |
I don't know about honesty, but, yeah, that's the George Frazier that's in the booth for the Rocks.

That sounds like something that would have been found in the "announced" (in Part I), but never made, movie History of the World Part II - Jews in Space. Later
Willets Point Aug 30 2006 12:05 PM |
The Jewish Star sounds like a gossip rag from Williamsburg.
