This morning I tried to turn on my computer - nothing happened. Nothing. But I could hear the humming. So I eventually held the button down, and I could hear it totally shut off. Then I restarted it, and it booted up fine.
The thing is, lately I could hear the computer hum, even after I have shut it down. I thought it was the monitor (and thought it was weird that the monitor hummed) because there was no other indication of the computer being on.
So what I think I have is a computer that isn't going through the shut down process completely.
What could/should I do? Do I need to worry?

ON EDIT - the humming isn't from the computer - it's just the speakers. We turned the computer off and on without trouble this morning. Perhaps it just didn't shut down properly last night. Unless someone thinks this sounds serious, or unless it happens again, I'll keep my fingers crossed that this was a one time glitch.
