Ain't no shame in that, friend.

All sins can be forgiven. Your penance is to listen to the Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin for the next eight days until you're once again rocking and rolling the way a good music fan should be.

I thought this post was going to begin with, "Forgive me Father for I have sinned..."

I saw in the paper that Shania Twain has just turned 41. I haven't seen her/thought about her in a while, but I don't know if I've ever seen anyone sexier.

Drat! If I hadn't started babbling about Shania Twain, my post would have gotten in ahead of Willets'.

Shania owes me, man!

I stole so many post-its from my old firm that more than three years later, I still haven't run out.

CF, that's ok. I'm lookin' for the person who keeps stealing all the staple removers.

Look for somebody who's carrying around a lot of staples in his pocket.

When I really miss my granddaughter Rachel, I'll watch, all by myself, a "Rachel movie" -- something with Hillary Duff, or Lindsay Lohan, or Mary Kate and Ashley.

Oooh, that's a good one.

I'd rather that my granddaughter not like Lindsay Lohan or the twins. They are terrible role models. (except for the money that make) The world doesn't need to glorify such slutty substance abusers.

I'd prefer she have someone like Hillary Duff or Julia Stiles as her role model.

To paraphrase Vincent Vega from 'Pulp Fiction':

"But Lindsay Lohan looks good, The Olsen twins look good..."

i've never found the olsen twins to be attractive. and i've pretty much dismissed lindsay lohan at this point as well - the strung-out look just isnt appealing to me.

i figure i should also admit to never having really been smitten with britney, either.

i have standards.

I was convinced Beltran sucked BHMC.

I love soup's one track mind ... our sim score on that track is off the charts.

Re: Beltran, I was thinking about that biggest surprise thread the other day and
didn't dig it up. I remember that someone was really on the Valentin bandwagon
but jeezijunipers I thought too going into 2006 the Mets were saddled with a real
bad signing for the next five years or whatever and now the dude's an MVP candidate.

Perverts.

Yancy Street Gang

I'd call Beltran's comeback more of a relief than a surprise. I'm still with Valentin for biggest surprise. He was supposed to be NOTHING and he's become an important player.

Rockin' Doc

I'd agree with Yancey's assessment that the performance of Valentin is a much bigger surprise to than that of Beltran. Beltran had shown what he was capable of in past campaigns and I wasn't buying into the idea that the pressure of playing in New York was too much for him. I hoped that Beltran would again become the player he had been in prior seasons. He exceeded even my expectations for him this year. Valentin, on the other hand, I had virtually no real expectations for him. I hoped, with little ecpectation that it would actually occur, that he would be a decent back up to Kaz Matsui at second base. Valentin has far exceeded my modest hope for his performance this season. Valentin is having one of the absolute best season's of his career thus far. He, not Beltran, is a worthy candidate for major league comeback player of the year.

When players exceed their projected level of performance, that's how championships are won. The Mets are an illustration of that. Beltran, Valentin, Chavez, Nady (while he was here), and Duaner Sanchez are all players that I think greatly exceeded the expectations of the majority of the CPF membership.

="soupcan"]"But Lindsay Lohan looks good,

This used to be true.

="soupcan"] The Olsen twins look good..."

This was never true. Ever.

But then I still like Britney Spears, so I'm not one to judge. She's kind of stuck with me through the years.

One of the girls I am working with this winter looks like the Olson twins; she is very cute.

Hmmm. If she looks like the twins combined, she must weigh about 105 pounds.
