Apparently all that extra traffic around Shea is some sort of tennis thing.

Agassi wins in 4 to stave off retirement.

It's been a year. Has Andy Roddick found his mojo?

Well, at least he's made it past the first round this time.

Jimmy Connors is his mojo this year.

The US Open always manages to somehow get many of their best moments at 12, 1, or even 2 in the morning.
Here, even on the 1st night with a potential final ever appearance by Agassi in a match that did NOT go to the limit, they're finishing at ridiculous hours.

Wimbledon and the French Open always manage to avoid things like that.

With all the money spent building the tennis center you'd think they would have added a retractable roof, more rain delays today.

I was watching part of the Agassi match and found myself rooting for him. I was asking myself why I never rooted for him before. About ten seconds into his speech, I suddenly remembered why.

"You gave me your shoulders to stand on so I could reach for my dreams...wah wah wah..."

They were too busy over-spending to build a new main stadium that's at
least 40% bigger than what they actually need.
You can't watch tennis from the upper seats in that place ... the match
is more like a rumor from up there.
And what's worse is that everyone pretty much knew - and many said out
loud - that they were overbuilding while they were building it ... but I
think they were just too flush with money (from rich tennis folk and the
Dinkins administration) to stop.

I know all about the building of it,I worked there for three years on the construction of it and we used to laugh when we were at the upper seats about how you could barely see the court, Center Court at Wimbledon is getting a roof.

Thank you CF - it's nice to know that I'm not alone.
