Interesting in that A. Hernandez gets a spot start at SS -- while they still had designs on him as an everydayer at 2B, Woody woulda gotten that spot.

I think it shows the org sees him today as a reserve and that the starter boat has all but sailed.

Go Johnny Pine Tree State. They laughed at me when I suggested he mighta been the guy they wanted. Laughed!

I like the fact that I didn't go OH F*** S*** when I didn't see Reyes SS in the leadoff spot!

Though I'd appreciate not seeing Wright for a game or two as well

Welcome back Cliff Floyd from the DL!

Encouraging inning from Hirsh.

It's great to have Cliff back. Hopefully, he'll be rested and ready for the October.

KC
Sep 02 2006 07:14 PM

They said Cliff hit two dingers yesterday at St. Lucie ... bang pow!

SwitchHitter
Sep 02 2006 07:15 PM

He shoulda waited till Monday to be sure.

SwitchHitter
Sep 02 2006 07:35 PM

I guess Maine doesn't run the bases very often.

martin
Sep 02 2006 07:36 PM

i dont understand that call, is the claim that maine ran in so the throw to first would hit him? i dont get it.

SwitchHitter
Sep 02 2006 07:40 PM

Ran out of the basepaths. I dont' think he was trying to be hit. I dunno. I have it on radio.

2-0 Mets going to the home half of the 5th.

Berkman is one strong country boy.

SwitchHitter
Sep 02 2006 08:20 PM

Berkman cuts the lead in half.

SwitchHitter
Sep 02 2006 08:24 PM

I know y'all are the best team in the NL.

But do my broadcasters need to keep mentioning it?

OlerudOwned
Sep 02 2006 08:30 PM

Astros apparently do not like having the fewest errors in the league.

SwitchHitter
Sep 02 2006 08:31 PM

KC, my broadcasters say that your bar & grill brought a party to the game.

OlerudOwned
Sep 02 2006 08:33 PM

Hirsh is really earning his unearned runs.

SwitchHitter
Sep 02 2006 08:36 PM

I was at his ML debut. He got out of a bases-loaded jam in the 3rd, only to give up 3 HR in the 4th. He earned that 8+ ERA, too.

Cliff with a half a bang pow scores Wright for some insurance in the top of
the ninth.

It's easy to mention this now, but Qualls is actually a better pitcher against lefties than Miller is. I love it when the kneejerk move is the wrong one.

Bidge doubles, Lane walks ... I'm dying over here.

How serious is it?

TheOldMole
Sep 02 2006 09:49 PM

Leg caught in the padding...listening on MLB radio. He's limping, but he's walking...

OlerudOwned
Sep 02 2006 09:50 PM

His knee didn't look like he twisted it too much.

I hope.

Pray.

Beg.

He was walking pretty well, I don't get why guys have to make two and a
half minute walks with bad legs but what do I know.

Mets win!

The magic number is (I wanna kiss you) ...

I just have the radio to go by.

MFS62
Sep 02 2006 09:56 PM

From the replay, it looked like he stepped up on the base of the padding (about a foot off the ground) and may have caught his spikes in the wire fence or bruised it on the fence. He then turned around and made the throw back to the infield and didn't seem to have immediate discomfort. But he then went to the ground ans stayed there a while before limping off the field. The expression on his face when he was going down the ramp from the dugout to the clubhouse didn't look encouraging.

shitfuck

I was out, and I read about Beltran hereon the ride home. Ugh - I hope he's ok.
