Grouchy About the Dodger Series

I don't want to hang Trachsel alone here. Team play means picking people up. And nobody picked Trachs up. (Of course, they did half the summer.)

I'm grouchy about righthanded hitting. Either because adjustments have been made against David Wright, or because they're not being as aggressive against him, he isn't killing lefties like he had earlier in the year. At any rate, he can't do it alone.

I'm grouchy about Lastings Milledge. He should be Wright's primary help against lefties and he's not. More generally, he did some crapping yesterday.

I'm grouchy that the Mets maybe rushed him along too much.

I'm grouchy that they nonetheless need him to perform because they dealt Xavier Nady with no other righthanded options in place.

I'm grouchy that they came up flat two days in a row against a potential playoff opponent, giving hope when the whole league should be feeling hopeless by now.

I'm grouchy that the absence of Beltran in the lineup makes us soddenly hit like a second division team, the fans cheering wildly for solo homers in a 9-1 rout.

And every day, I want more and more walks.

Yep, looks like you covered the topic very well.

I repeat and reallege each and every cause for grouchiness contained in Paragraphs 1 through 8 contained hereof, with the same force and effect as if set forth fully at length herein.

9. I'm grouchy because the two games I attended this weekend were Friday and Sunday's craptacular efforts.

Correcting myself: They came up flat two games in three, not necessarily two days in a row.

That's OK. You were on a roll and we didn't want to interrupt. We got your drift. :)

I'm grouchy because this team does not do well against left handed starters.

And we lost to Kid Pro Kuo.

Funny that I emerged from my grouchiness recently and now Edgy falls in the can.

Kind of a retro-Mets moment losing to a rookie in his major league debut.

... and next we're facing a rook who pitched a no-no in his last start. Time to pull out a can of whoopass.

Or else time to alert the Johnny Vander Meer family.

I'd actually be okay with it if it did. It would be pretty cool.

How great would this be... Annabelle pitches a no-hitter, but the Mets win on an unearned run?

Before the game I was think nuh-huh, but now I'm thinking uh-huh. Too bad we don't get to preselect our results.

Worst stretch we've played this year since the Boston-Bronx trip.

I think Willie might do well by sitting a few regulars and playing the reserves for a few games...just to change things up a bit.

I think Willie should overturn a post-game spread.

The left-hand column is getting awfully wide on these pages.

Oh that's Oscars fault. I'll say goodbye to him since I'll be Mr. Met-ed shortly. How we'll fit his big head in here, I don't know???

I guess no more need to be grouchy on Mets-Dodgers!
