I just received word that the daughter of my friend and colleague lost her battle with leukemia this afternoon. She is survived by her parents and three older siblings.

I believe the website was started as a school project by the teachers and students of the elementary school Ashlyn attended. I will check to see if they are still in need of funds and let anyone that is interested know what I find out in the next few days.

I attended Ashlyn's funeral service earlier this evening. Both her parents and her three older siblings seemed to be holding up remarkably well given the circumstances. Her teacher gave a beautiful eulogy to "a child radiated life" through her spirit and enthusiasm.
