I believe this little exercise may have come to a screeching halt. I can't even think of any women with a name that starts with the letter U other than Uma Thurman. I guess it's hard to write and romantic love song to Ursula or Uma. The best I could come up with using Google was a song from 1885 entitled, Upidee. Of course, I'm not sure it's really about a women, but it is listed under the category of "Heart Songs". Either way, there aren't any lyrics available and I don't really think it would be what KC had in mind when he started this exercise.

You keep bending the rules but I'm giving you credit on "I Would Die for U." Good play.
John sang lead on two other early hits --- "She's Gone" and the remake of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" --- before they, like the Cars, began churning out increasingly stinky hit cookie-cutter singles. It's the nature of soul. Sometimes you need harmonies and sometimes a soloist. When Phil Spectre assigned virtually all of the vocals on "Unchained Melody" to Bobby Hatfield, Bill Medley asked "What am I supposed to do?" Phil answered, "Go to the bank and cash your checks." That's what Oates did. He cashed his checks.

Gwreck Sep 27 2006 12:25 AM |

No, I mean we've met that Nancy --- the chick with the laughing face and all. Liam brought her by the third time throgh the alphabet. No objection on skipping those letters. I think some have taken upon themselves to skip more than that in order to post a song they have in mind. I still have a few songs from the first round or two that haven't been used, but I'm never around when the proper letter comes up. It would help if everyone identifeid the song and artist. It makes it easier to see if a song has been used.
