The Lincoln Tunnel

When driving in Manhattan, what's the best way to get to the outbound Lincoln Tunnel? I've never managed to figure this out. Whenever I follow the signs, they seem to abandon me.

I almost always go to 11th and drive south to ~43rd (?) where the left lanes are well marked. Make a left, and a quick right and you're in the tunnel before ya know it.

If you're coming from the East Side, I always take 34th Street. There is a little street, I think it's called "Dyer", where you make a right and it takes you right into it.

Yup. 34th Street. The entrance is between 9th and 10 th Aves. I believe.

Duffy to the rescue, as usual.

Southbound on 9th Avenue, between 30th and 31st streets. Whenever going to the Garden, I'd park in an outdoor lot right there. Going home, I'd make a right and zoom into the tunnel. I've never had a delay taking the tunnel from this entryway.

The turn I mentioned does not take you right in, but it does feed into the tunnel. I'm sure there are many approaches to get there.

Not necessary; there is an entrance on 10th Avenue, just north of 30th street. If you're coming from the south, make a right and it puts you right into the feeder to the tunnel. Also to note: Soupcan is correct about the best way from the East side, and yes, it's between 9th and 10th. Hahn is right about the "feeders." There are about a dozen different entrances, from 30th street to 42nd street. They all put you on ramps into the tunnel. The number of entrances is because the tunnel has 3 tubes and variable lane assignment, with 2-4 lanes in each direction depending on the time of day.
