Well, you can't win them all, but lately it was starting to feel that way. Every time the Mets scored some runs, Oliver Perez allowed even more of them to the Rockies. The Rockies teed off on Perez for 12 hits and 2 walks in little over 3 innings of work. The bullpen came in and did an excellent job of holding the Rockies offense in check. The relievers limited the Rockies to only 1 run and 3 hits over the final five innings. Unfortunately, it was too little too late.
Still, will celebrate good effort from the team and hope that young Oliver Perez spends the remainder of the season working on his command in Norfolk. So pass around the bottles of Summer Solstice Cerveza Crema from the Anderson Valley Brewing Company of Boonville, CA.
