Willets Point Sep 15 2006 06:46 PM |
... and Pedro's on the mound!
Johnny Dickshot Sep 15 2006 07:03 PM |

Willets Point Sep 15 2006 07:09 PM |
Anyone know what the "BOB" patch on the Pirates' uniforms commemorates?
Willets Point Sep 15 2006 07:12 PM |
Here comes Pedro!
Valadius Sep 15 2006 07:17 PM |
I'm trying to figure out what the patch is for.
Valadius Sep 15 2006 07:19 PM |
Calm down Pedro!!!
Willets Point Sep 15 2006 07:22 PM |
"BOB" is the former mayor of Pittsburgh:
From the Pirates webpage.
Edgy DC Sep 15 2006 07:22 PM |
I don't give a shit. We'll still win.
Valadius Sep 15 2006 07:25 PM |
Oh yeah, that's right! And a 26-year-old is the new mayor of Pittsburgh.
Edgy DC Sep 15 2006 07:26 PM |
Awkard justaposition. I meant I don't give a shit about those two runs, not that I don't give a shit about the passing of Mayor O'Connor. Mayor honored: The Pirates will wear specially designed patches on their uniforms in memory of Mayor Bob O'Connor, who passed away last Friday due to brain cancer, starting with the team's next homestand on Monday.
Willets Point Sep 15 2006 07:27 PM |
The Pirates broadcasters just gave a serious update on competitive eating. I'm speechless
Valadius Sep 15 2006 07:28 PM |
Walk it off Cliffy!
Willets Point Sep 15 2006 07:28 PM |
I was wondering why so little respect for the dead. Didn't seem like you. I also didn't realize O'Connor died in office until I read your clip.
Edgy DC Sep 15 2006 07:31 PM |
That, by the way, is when a slide into first is appropriate.

2-0 Pirates after two innings.
Willets Point Sep 15 2006 07:39 PM |
Nice to see Pedro get out of that messy situation with no additional runs scoring.
Valadius Sep 15 2006 07:40 PM |
Yeah, unlike some pitchers I know...
Edgy DC Sep 15 2006 07:45 PM |
Tough call at the plate by Jeff Kellogg on Valentin.
Valadius Sep 15 2006 07:45 PM |
Pedro draws a walk.
Edgy DC Sep 15 2006 07:46 PM |
Well, Pedro gets the calls instead.
Valadius Sep 15 2006 07:53 PM |
Pedro strikes out Jason Bay. Here comes X-Man.
ScarletKnight41 Sep 15 2006 07:57 PM |
2 runs in the bottom of the third give the Pirates a 4-0 lead :(
Valadius Sep 15 2006 07:58 PM |
Settle down Pedro!
Valadius Sep 15 2006 08:02 PM |
10 more K's to 3,000 for Pedro.
Mr. Zero Sep 15 2006 08:03 PM |

Mr. Zero Sep 15 2006 08:06 PM |

Valadius Sep 15 2006 08:07 PM |
Dookie slaps a single for the first hit of the night for the Metsies.
Willets Point Sep 15 2006 08:07 PM |
Poor Pedro!
seawolf17 Sep 15 2006 08:08 PM |
Pedro, do NOT be hurt. Do NOT.
Valadius Sep 15 2006 08:09 PM |
Eh? What's going on with Pedro?
seawolf17 Sep 15 2006 08:09 PM |
Gary reads the Pool.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 15 2006 08:09 PM |
He's not. Not for nothing but this shouldn't come as a surprise. The guy's been hurt 3 times this year and already tried and failed once to come back from this injury. Look, we're gonna go to the playoffs without Sanchez and without Nady, and in fact, without more than half the guys who played on this team.
ScarletKnight41 Sep 15 2006 08:10 PM |
I had the same reaction.
Valadius Sep 15 2006 08:13 PM |
Well it looks like something is wrong with Pedro, as Darren Oliver comes out of the pen.
seawolf17 Sep 15 2006 08:14 PM |
That, or Steve Rogers is really Gary Cohen.
Edgy DC Sep 15 2006 08:18 PM |
Oh, man, I'm going to check out some more Graham Parker videos.
Valadius Sep 15 2006 08:18 PM |
Come on Mets! I was a toddler, wearing diapers, the last time we won the division. I want to remember this one!
Edgy DC Sep 15 2006 08:21 PM |
Well shit. Put your diapers back on. Your jinxing everything.
Edgy DC Sep 15 2006 08:22 PM |
Willets Point Sep 15 2006 08:22 PM |
C'mon! Let's kick some Pirate ass!
Edgy DC Sep 15 2006 08:23 PM |
Mr. Met got inside the stadium.
Willets Point Sep 15 2006 08:25 PM |
It ain't easy being Green.
ScarletKnight41 Sep 15 2006 08:25 PM |
It looks like we'll be doing this all over again manana.
Willets Point Sep 15 2006 08:27 PM |
Nice play by Jack Wilson.
Willets Point Sep 15 2006 08:27 PM |
It ain't over til its over. Hell, there are 5 innings to go and I'm sure the Bucs' bullpen can't be this good.
Valadius Sep 15 2006 08:28 PM |
One inning? That's it for Oliver?
seawolf17 Sep 15 2006 08:28 PM |
Let's Go As-Tros! (clap clap clapclapclap)
Willets Point Sep 15 2006 08:30 PM |

Thank you Jose! We're finally on the board.
ScarletKnight41 Sep 15 2006 08:38 PM |
Damn - LoDuca gets thrown out arguing a called third strike.
TransMonk Sep 15 2006 08:39 PM |
It was a horseshit call, though.
Willets Point Sep 15 2006 08:39 PM |
Go Duke. Get 'em fired up.
Edgy DC Sep 15 2006 08:40 PM |
Good for you, Paulie. Crap night for Jeff Kellogg.
I don't want another post out of you unless it's "I have my diaper on now."

The thick legged one is in to pitch.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 15 2006 08:46 PM |

This was a dumb thing to get upset about even before the pinch-hitter had the best at-bat of the game and led to a run.
We didn't not need it either. Cap'n Red Ass knows what he was doing.

DiFelice will drive in the winning run. You heard it here first.
Valadius Sep 15 2006 08:53 PM |
I wasn't getting upset about it, just surprised.

Johnny Dickshot Sep 15 2006 09:27 PM |
They've been playing that dumb promo for Mets Kid Klubhouse all season long and the best clip they have from it is a chick saying "Welcome back to Kids Clubhouse." WTF?

ScarletKnight41 Sep 16 2006 08:13 AM |
Who was it who said that he'd pay for a video of Paul LoDuca's greatest tantrums?
Edgy DC Sep 16 2006 08:55 AM |
Cliff Floyd going down and tagging Salomon Torres' splitter last night in the ninth may have been the most encouraging thing because (a) a hot bat from Floyd is the coolest thing, (b) we've seen (in '03 and '04) when his legs are falling apart, he can still keep his swing going, but mostly (c) Torres' is a pretty good analogy to Mariano Rivera.
