Dontrelle Willis' home run ties the game 1-1 in the 5th.

When he came up the first time, the announcers on the radio were saying that he's a good hitter, and mentioned the grandslam he hit earlier this year (off Jose Lima).

Willis is killing us with his bat...

Florida scored three in the top of the 6th, but the Mets have come back with two in the bottom of the inning off of Willis.

Wright gets his 20th steal of the year.

Endy Chavez does a nice job of chasing down a long fly to preserve the 1-run deficit.

The wheels fall off. Ramirez scores from 2nd on a wild pitch.

Does Bert make the post-season roster?

Willis is unstoppable.

We need a big net or something. He can't keep doing this to us. It's insanity dammit.

Valadius
Sep 20 2006 09:32 PM

As of now, no. We have an excuse now to exclude him from a quite large list of pitchers.

What is the major league record for pitches in an at-bat?

Sep 20 2006 09:57 PM

Willis leaves in the bottom of the ninth after walking Milledge and Green.

Borowski coming in with the tying run at the plate...whole new ballgame.

Tuck Everlasting draws a walk, loading the bases for Goggles.

Reyes pops up to end the game.

Oh well, we can't win 'em all.

Sep 20 2006 10:16 PM

Reyes had a good AB showing a great eye on a few balls but then flies out to LF...

Mets clinch home field advantage anyway as Geoff Jenkins hits a walk off homer to beat the Cards 1-0.

Johnny Dickshot
Sep 20 2006 10:44 PM

It was a lengthy AB, but not a good one. His swings didn't look too good, including the first swing-and-miss which mighta cost him an RBI walk and allowed Cliff a shot to end it.

I don't mind losing when the Mets get the tying run on base or at the plate. I mean, I do, but better to have threatened than go down w/o a fight.
