Go, cats, go.

That's 18 new game-used jerseys.

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 06:30 PM

Three straight days on the bench for Carlos Beltran.

Yancy Street Gang
Sep 21 2006 06:31 PM

Hmmm. Remember how he'd only hit homers when Pedro pitched?

metirish
Sep 21 2006 06:40 PM

So is Willie just resting Beltran or what?,I'd hate for Carlos to lose his hot bat sitting on the bench.

Of course.

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 07:16 PM

One-two-three with a fine catch by Green.

Let's get Sanchez early.

metirish
Sep 21 2006 07:18 PM

Beltran resting because of "overall soreness"....nice catch by Green.

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 07:29 PM

Any guesses on what the joke is between Martinez and Delgado?

metirish
Sep 21 2006 07:43 PM

No idea but Pedro was still laughing as he left the mound, and Pedro has a 1-2-3 inning again.

ScarletKnight41
Sep 21 2006 07:45 PM

I think Carlos told Pedro what cooby thinks about his ass ;)

metirish
Sep 21 2006 07:51 PM

Chavez steals a hit with a diving catch in CF....a great great catch...Gary reckons if Endy were an everyday player he would win a gold glove.

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 07:52 PM

Endy Chavez's glove: where triples go to die.

Do that, Beltran.

metirish
Sep 21 2006 07:54 PM

Pedro os cruising with 5 K's and a wicked curve.

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 07:54 PM

I'm nominating Kelly Stinnett for the post-season roster to be Pedro's caddy.

Wow.

ScarletKnight41
Sep 21 2006 08:00 PM

Delgado hits in Endy to give the Mets a 1-0 lead!

metirish
Sep 21 2006 08:02 PM

Delgado knocks in the first run of the game.....in case anyone is interested the Mets will feature on "This Week in Baseball" Saturday.

="metirish"]Pedro os cruising with 5 K's and a wicked curve.

What pants is he wearing??!!

I think Carlos told Pedro what cooby thinks about his ass ;)

That's a typical male reaction to my ardor

2 on, 1 out for Cliff.

I'd like a nice big inning, how about you?

metirish
Sep 21 2006 08:04 PM

Cooby he's wearing velvet pants...I wonder where he got them....:)

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 08:05 PM

John Pachot's pants.

Metrish I knew you would say that, lol...

I meant is he wearing his long pants or his short pants?

Or not.

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 08:11 PM

Nice try by Valentin.

I'd really enjoy a hit or two today by Stinnett.

metirish
Sep 21 2006 08:11 PM

Pedro is sporting long pants, the ones that go down to the heel...

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 08:13 PM

No no-no tonight, Nanette.

metirish
Sep 21 2006 08:19 PM

Who was the bollox that said Pedro was cruising?....Mets down 2-1.

ScarletKnight41
Sep 21 2006 08:19 PM

Crap - Olivo's 2-run single gives the Fish a 2-1 lead. 2 on, one out, and Pedro struggling in the 5th.

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 08:23 PM

2,996

ScarletKnight41
Sep 21 2006 08:24 PM

Damn - another 2-run single gives the Fish a 4-1 lead :(

ScarletKnight41
Sep 21 2006 08:26 PM

Pedro ends the inning with a K.

Gary finds the outing "encouraging."

Willets Point
Sep 21 2006 08:27 PM

Hmph...I tune in and Pedro goes all Glavine on me. Was he doing well before this inning?

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 08:28 PM

He was doing very good. Probably just short on endurance after the layoff.

2,997.

ScarletKnight41
Sep 21 2006 08:33 PM

Endy Chavez singles and sacrifices himself in a rundown that allows Ledee to score. 4-2 after 5 complete.

cooby
Sep 21 2006 08:34 PM

Damn, just as I was about to give his pants credit.

Edgy what's the big numbers?

ScarletKnight41
Sep 21 2006 08:35 PM

Those are Pedro's lifetime strikeouts.

OlerudOwned
Sep 21 2006 08:39 PM

At least Endy is great.

Valadius

Humber. Humber. Humber.

KC
Sep 21 2006 08:46 PM

What's the Humber obsession all about?

Valadius
Sep 21 2006 08:47 PM

Get him in a game already.

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 08:48 PM

I was just making idle conversation. No need to get fixated there, Val.

Sep 21 2006 08:49 PM

Aflac trivia..

"who holds the Mets record for most hits in the postseason"

Valadius
Sep 21 2006 08:49 PM

A single postseason or overall?

metirish
Sep 21 2006 08:51 PM

Good point val, I may have flubbed the question but I think that's what it was.

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 08:53 PM

The booth boys are assuming overall.

I'm guessing Boswell. Why not?

metirish
Sep 21 2006 08:55 PM

Gary with some interesting info,on a tour of the new joint today he ws told that it's against NY Stat law to implode Shea,it has to be taken down bolt by bolt.

Valadius
Sep 21 2006 08:57 PM

I'm guessing Fonzie.

ScarletKnight41
Sep 21 2006 08:59 PM

Bradford pitched a 1-2-3 top of the 7th.

Good.

metirish
Sep 21 2006 09:01 PM

Fonzie is the trivia answer...26 career postseason hits for the Mets.

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 09:02 PM

Alfonzo: 26 hits. Whow.

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 09:03 PM

Kelly Stinnett is one husky backup catcher.

ScarletKnight41
Sep 21 2006 09:15 PM

Ron and Gary are discussing the films that their kids watch over and over again. They're not worried about this game.

ScarletKnight41
Sep 21 2006 09:16 PM

A 2-out RBI triple/double with various error(s) gives the Fish a 5-2 lead.

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 09:17 PM

Green does not dig balls out of the corner well. I'll say that.

And I do!

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 09:20 PM

889

One more for 900, Darren.

OlerudOwned
Sep 21 2006 09:29 PM

Wow, he's got 10 strikeouts today?

Maybe he should be the 4th postseason starter.

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 09:32 PM

Or 890.

Sorry. I'm home sick and delerious.

What would make me feel better is to see Wright drive the ball to right center against a lefty like he used to.

That'd make us all feel a bit better.

But seriously, get well and stuff.

Sep 21 2006 09:39 PM

Is it fair that Ron Darling has called Pedro's outing tonight brilliant several times, yeah he was brillinat for 4 innings but tired very quickly in the fifth...it seems to me that it's asking an awful lot of Pedro to find his arm strength in one more start.....to be fair to Ron he is concerned about that too.

Edgy DC
Sep 21 2006 09:41 PM

More good news than bad on that front, though. Don't you think?

We won't need complete games from the guy.

metirish
Sep 21 2006 09:41 PM

Pedro Astacio to pitch Friday night for the Nats...I loved him as a Met....he was a gamer.

KC
Sep 21 2006 09:43 PM

Sick and Delerious would make a good album name.

metirish
Sep 21 2006 09:45 PM

Yes it's good news Edgy, no doubt about that.

soupcan
Sep 21 2006 09:46 PM

I didn't see much of this game but I know what went down and how.

So how are we feeling about Pedro?

From what I can gather we are now concerned (but not overly) about arm strength? Calf is good? Yes?

metirish
Sep 21 2006 09:49 PM

Soupcan,Pedro was great the first four innings, had 7 K's and threw his pitches, had a great curve going tonight...his calf is fine as are Wagners Alpaca's.
