You know, the first time I saw this thread title, I thought maybe Willets had forgotten to buy coffee last week and ran out

I'm about 10 years away from this:

Mother, mother ocean, I have heard you call,
Wanted to sail upon your waters
since I was three feet tall.
You've seen it all, you've seen it all.

Watch the men who rode you,
Switch from sails to steam.
And in your belly you hold the treasure
that few have ever seen, most of them dreams,
Most of them dreams.

Yes, I am a pirate two hundred years too late.
The cannons don't thunder there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late.

I've done a bit of smugglin'
I've run my share of grass.
I made enough money to buy Miami,
But I pissed it away so fast,
Never meant to last, never meant to last.

I have been drunk now for over two weeks,
I passed out and I rallied and I sprung a few leaks,
But I've got to stop wishin',
Got to go fishin', I'm down to rock bottom again.
Just a few friends, just a few friends.

Instrumental

I go for younger women, lived with several awhile
And though I ran away, they'll come back one day.
And still could manage a smile
It just takes awhile, just takes awhile.

Mother, mother ocean, after all these years I've found
My occupational hazard being my occupations
just not around.
I feel like I've drowned,
Gonna head uptown.

And while we are on the Buffett Sea Faring Man kick here is another classic:

As the son of a son of a sailor,
I went out on the sea for adventure,
Expanding ther view of the captain and crew
Like a man just released from indenture.

As a dreamer of dreams and a travelin' man,
I have chalked up many a mile.
Read dozens of books about heroes and crooks,
And I've learned much from both of their styles.

Son of a son, son of a son, son of a son of a sailor.
Son of a gun; load the last ton
One step ahead of the jailer.

Now away in the near future, southeast of disorder,
You can shake the hand of the mango man
As he greets you at the border.

And the lady she hails from Trinidad,
Island of the spices.
Salt for your meat and cinnamon sweet,
And the rum is for all your good vices.

Haul the sheet in as we ride on the wind that our
Forefathers harnessed before us.
Hear the bells ring as the tide rigging sings.
It's a son of a gun of a chorus.

Where it all ends I can't fathom, my friends.
If I knew, I might toss out my anchor.
So I'll cruise along always searchin' for songs,
Not a lawyer, a thief or a banker.

But a son of a son, son of a son, son of a son of a sailor.
Son of a gun, load the last ton
One step ahead of the jailer
I'm just a son of a son, son of a son, son of a son of a sailor
The sea's in my veins, my tradition remains.
I'm just glad I don't live in a trailer.

Got one more. Its a Crosby, Stills & Nash song, but the Cheif Parrotthead always plays it in his shows, its always a crowd pleaser that finally got its way on an album, in Buffett's "Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays" a few years back, as well as the Tiki Tour live albums in 2003 (IIRC)

Southern Cross:

Got out of town on a boat for the southern islands
On a reach before a following sea
We were making for the trades on the outside
And the downhill run to Papeete

Off the wind on this heading lie the Marquesas
We got eighty feet of waterline nicely making way
In a noisy bar in Avalon I tried to call you
But on the midnight watch I realized why twice you ran away

(Chorus)
Think about how many times I have fallen
Spirits are using me, larger voices calling
What heaven brought you and me cannot be forgotten
I have been around the world
Looking for that woman girl
Who knows love can endure
And you know it will. And you know it will.

continued below...

When you see the southern cross for the first time
You understand just why you came this way
Cause the truth you might be running from is so small
But its as big as the promise, the promise of a coming day

And I'm heading all the way, my dreams are dying
And my love is an anchor tied to you, tied with a silver chain
I have my ship and all her flags are a-flying
She is all I have left and music is her name

(chorus)

So we cheated and we tried and we tested
And we never failed to fail, it was the easiest thing to do
You will survive being bested
Somebody strong comes along, makes me forget, forget about loving you
And the southern cross

Can you think of any other product, except maybe deoderant, that causes instant panic when you run out of it?

Well, it depends on who you are.

Toothpaste.

Not to be indelicate, but prophylactics.

Diapers.

Ammo.

Depends on who you are.

Medication to reduce panic. That's kind of a wheel within a wheel.

I'm not worried. It's easy to kick people's asses when they're wearing floral shirts and stinking drunk.

So a pirate walks into a bar, and he's got a steering wheel sticking out of his swashbuckling pants!

The bartender says, 'Hey, what's up with that thing? Doesn't it bother you?'

And the pirate says, 'Yarrr, it's drivin' me nuts!'
