Fundies, Nats. Fundies.

Since I'm the only one watching tonite: They had leadoff double, single (Vidro stayed at third). Vidro then gets pickled on an infield grounder, and neither of the other runners advance. Finally, we get a strike-em-out, throw-em-out to end the inning with the 8th place hitter up.

We shoulda had that David Wright benefit concert, I tellya. Can't screw up those Reyes on 3rd, 1 out situations.

The Rabbi of Swat.

Jeez, nice catch by Nook.

I know Zimmerman hit a 3-run double, but I haven't seen anything after that.

My connection is being a bum. What's the score now?

Johnny Dickshot

3-2 in the middle of the 5th.

We scored our 2nd run on walks to Dook and Beltran, a long Wright fly got 'em to 2nd and 3rd and Dook scored on a Floyd groundout.

Glavine had a decent 5th.

I hope they made a very very big tribute to the people who took refuge (?) there and especially to those who died while waiting for help.

Wright screws up another potential big inning. Boo.

Wright has been terrible, warning track power lately.

Beltran has three bases-on-balls in three trips. Frank Robinson's plan is to put his walking gait to the nine-inning test.

Omar in the booth with the guys and says he's not worried about the Mets problems against leftie pitching...there is a plan B if Pedro ain't ready for game one, although Omar thinks he'll be fine.

"McClellan calls the game like he's on a Valium or something".

Awesome, Keith.

The other guys in the booth have been joking about when Keith is going to get another memo from management. He certainly doesn't handle the job like he wants to stay in the business for long.

No, he doesn't, but his candor and frankness is pretty refreshing and kinda funny to me. He's like the guy that's fun to hang out with having a couple of drinks at a bar, but you're a little afraid of what he's going to say when you're around people you actually respect.

Word.

He's the kind of guy who, just after you've convinced everybody in the room how smart he is, walks in and says something dumb.

You're pissed and humiliated, and you start telling other people what an idiot he is, then he walks into the room and says something brilliant.

Good stuff in the booth.

The guys are thanking all the SNY crew and showing them on TV, they show some kid named Anthony....Keith - " he flirted with my wife yesterday".....maybe it's because he's calling a winning team but gary sure sounds like this season was a blast for him,I think keith and Ron probably had a lot to do with that.

Well, throughout that September slide, at least our fearsome bullpen stayed solid.

'Till tonight.

Wright's due up this inning, and he's already left the Brady Bunch on base tonight.

Train with D.C. baseball team derails, no injuries
WASHINGTON, Sept 26 (Reuters) - The Amtrak train carrying the Washington Nationals baseball team home from New York derailed early on Tuesday in Delaware. The incident was minor and no injuries were reported, the railroad and the team said.
The last set of wheels on the locomotive left the tracks north of the Wilmington station at about 1:30 a.m. (0530 GMT).
The train was moving slowly and none of the three cars of the charter train left the tracks, said Amtrak spokesman Cliff Black.
The cause is under investigation, Black said.
The Nationals were transferred to another train that arrived at Washington's Union Station about three hours later without incident.

North Wilmington at 1:30am is one of the last times and places I'd want my transportation to break down.

"train derails" and "no injuries" are phrases rarely appearing in the same sentence.

Maybe they only report derailments when people get hurt or when baseball teams are aboard.
