Atlanta leads Houston 2-0 in the top of the 3rd.

ScarletKnight41
Oct 01 2006 02:04 PM

In the bottom of the third, it's now 3-0 Atlanta.

ScarletKnight41
Oct 01 2006 02:31 PM

Atlanta is still up 3-0 in the 5th.

Milwaukee leads St. Louis 3-0 in the first.

Not sure what to root for. Do I root for chaos (and the possiblity of me making it to Shea for the first round) or do I root for the Cards to make it in.

SteveJRogers
Oct 01 2006 02:38 PM

Tigers up 6-4 in the 6th against KC
White Sox lead 1-0 in the 2nd against Minny

ScarletKnight41
Oct 01 2006 02:57 PM

The Astros strand two in scoring position. Still 3-0 Braves in the bottom of the 6th.

Gwreck
Oct 01 2006 03:17 PM

Astros got one back in the top of the 7th.

Had 1st and 2nd with no outs but couldn't get the tying runs in.

SteveJRogers
Oct 01 2006 03:25 PM

Detroit continues to lead 7-4 in the 7th
Sox 1-0 in the 4th

3-1 Braves in the 7th and 5-0 Brewers in the 4th.

ScarletKnight41
Oct 01 2006 03:37 PM

It's the top of the 9th in Atlanta. Houston's season is on the line.

SteveJRogers
Oct 01 2006 03:38 PM

Bob Wickman on the mound. Somewhere some mornic Brave wanker is probably saying this is vindication for last year's DS if they can get the win

SteveJRogers
Oct 01 2006 03:41 PM

If things hold the Cards will be doing the ACTUAL definition of backing in as they are down 5-0 now in the 5th

4-9 down the stretch and winning the division because the Stros lost the final game of the year, now THAT deserves the backing in riddicule

ScarletKnight41
Oct 01 2006 03:42 PM

And it's a final - Houston loses 3-1.

Condolences to Swtich Hitter - it was a well played season.

Congrats to my 13-year-old, who has been a St. Louis fan since he was 5 years old.

Oops - wrong thread.

SteveJRogers
Oct 01 2006 03:43 PM

And its over. The St Louis Cardinals, for the third straight year and 4th time in 6 years, are your NL Central champs.

SteveJRogers
Oct 01 2006 03:45 PM

So its Mets, Cards, Padres, Dodgers, Yankees, Twins, Tigers, and A's. With just accounting purposes left to decided the Divison winner in the AL Central, NL West and respective WC winners

Gwreck
Oct 01 2006 03:49 PM

The Royals just tied up the Tigers in the top of the 8th, and the Twins are now leading in the bottom of the 5th.

SteveJRogers
Oct 01 2006 03:58 PM

FWIW the Yanks are tied at 5 all in the 9th. If Blue Jays lose and Mets hold on to win, the Mets and Yanks will be in a flat footed tie for best record in the game

SteveJRogers
Oct 01 2006 04:04 PM

And Detroit ties it up in the 8th
Minny still leading 4-1 in the 6th

Possible opponent Dodgers just getting under way
Possible opponent Padres in about 40 minutes

SteveJRogers
Oct 01 2006 04:07 PM

Another FWIW, the Mets wrap up the NL as the only team winning 90. Also its funny in a way that in both Wild Card/Divison senarios that the WC winner will have a better record than the 3rd best Divison winner. Which means the A's and Cards right now have no idea where they are going to this week as of this moment

Gwreck
Oct 01 2006 04:09 PM

KC took a lead but a Matt Stairs HR tied it back up for the Tigers. Minnesota still winning.

SteveJRogers
Oct 01 2006 04:12 PM

Yanks down to final RS out, 7-5 Bernie on 2nd, Phillips up

SteveJRogers
Oct 01 2006 04:13 PM

Its a final at The Stadium. Yankees lose final game of season

SteveJRogers
Oct 01 2006 04:15 PM

Jeter .343
Cano .342

But it looks like Mauer will beat them, currently at .349

MFS62
Oct 01 2006 04:16 PM

I believe the Yankee loss clinches the best record in the majors for the Mets.

And Houston just lost 3-1, so the Cards are in and don't have to play Monday.

Cards open at the NL West Champions on Tuesday, and the Wild Cards open at the Mets on Wednesday!

Remember that San Diego has the tiebreaker against the Dodgers, so unless San Diego loses and the Dodgers win this afternoon, it'll be Cards-Padres and Dodgers-Mets.

Later

No, its a flat footed tie actually. Even head-to-head for 2006

SteveJRogers
Oct 01 2006 04:29 PM

From the WTF department, Boston and Baltimore are waiting out a rain delay? Dude, its the last day of the season, you can't even tie the Blue Jays for 2nd and you're stuck in 3rd.

JUST END IT!

Gwreck
Oct 01 2006 04:32 PM

Detroit / KC going to the bottom of the 9th, still tied. Tigers clinch the division (and face Oakland) with a win.

Minnesota leading CHW 4-1 in the 7th, they face the Yankees as Wild Card unless they win and Tigers lose.

Replace "fans" with "money" and you've got it.

If they don't play, the Red Sox have to issue refunds for a sold-out game.

Then that makes me want to hate the Sox even more than I already do! How about tix for a 2007 game or something

Tougher to do, given the way they sell out every game each season. Lot of people wouldn't get seats of equivalent value.

Fair point, but now you have a situation where they are sitting around for almost three hours now with no baseball for essentially Pawtucket against whomever the O's AAA team is now whenever they actually do play. Bad situation. In facts, fans should get refunded even IF the game is played! MFY do that and I think the Mets do as well

SteveJRogers
Oct 01 2006 04:42 PM

Spezio HRs to make it 5-3 Milwaukee.

Still called backing in and coincidental that you won the day your Magic Number zeroed out!

As opposed to it being coincidental that the Yanks lost the day their Magic Number zeroed out!

The Yankees don't offer refunds. They offer exchanges for the current season or next.

The Mets have offered exchanges for games but not refunds in some bad weather situations.

SteveJRogers
Oct 01 2006 04:45 PM

Its a final in St Louie, 5-3 Brewers.

Un freaking believeable. 4-10 down the stretch and they "hold off" a surging Astros

SteveJRogers
Oct 01 2006 04:47 PM

8 all in the 10th in Detroit
5-1 Twins in the 8th

Giants lead 2-1 in the 3rd
and Padres and DBacks just getting under way

Kenny Rogers in relief for the Tigers. I wouldn't count out the Royals yet.

Are you getting the "DEBUG MODE" thing?

Just reload the page and then go back to forums. Your post will still have gone through, and only once.
