Thom Brenneman: (following the Furcal walk) "Now, will this get the Dodger offense started?

Endy debuted with Kansas City in 2001.

smg58 Oct 07 2006 09:06 PM |
Furcal got a great jump on Trachsel, wasting an excellent throw by LoDuca.

Let's go Bradford!!!
|
Johnny Dickshot Oct 07 2006 09:57 PM |

I think Trax was doing fine and wasn't deserving of the hook or the childish hating in this thread. Of course, the poor fielding screwd him and Willie, and Oliver, kinda, since he wouldn;t be on the mound if we made any plays behind Trax. Eh. Like I said, we've put ourselves in a position where we have to hit more.
|
Zvon Oct 07 2006 10:00 PM |
|
I like what he gave us. To me it was typical Trax, when he's on. Wish we got more out of him tho....maybe we could hv... Dodgers hv momentum now and are makin the most of it. I dont like this at all.

Willie's lost it. He brought in Bradford too late, and now he's bringing in Feliciano too late.
|
SteveJRogers Oct 07 2006 10:05 PM |
Have we officially named a starter for Sunday? Perez? Maine?
|
Edgy DC Oct 07 2006 10:05 PM |
How huge is this coming at-bat? The Dodgers might go to Saenz, and Willie is already three-deep into the pen before we're out of the fifth.
|
Rotblatt Oct 07 2006 10:05 PM |
When this move implodes, the rags tomorrow are going to say our vaunted bullpen got exposed, but I say the problem is Willie didn't manage it properly.

how did Feliciano get credit for the win?
|
Edgy DC Oct 08 2006 12:03 AM |
New rule. All wins that Feliciano pitches in get credited to him.

I had the final out at 11:56 pm, making October 7, 2006 a truly great day in American History.

Awesome, baby....bring on the cards/pads victor-- can't believe I have to wait till wednesday

Keep the Mets AWAY from bars or taxis tonight. Especially taxis.

Cuz he's the pitcher of record of course. He finished the 5th and the Mets took the lead for good in the top of the 6th. 3:51 is your game time.

We hadn't swept a series in the postseason since the 1969 NLCS.

i thought i remembered sweeping the Cardinals in the 2000 NLCS? edit- just checked and we did lose a game that i dont even remember looking at the box score.
|
Frayed Knot Oct 08 2006 12:15 AM |
Won 4 of 5 vs the Cards in 2000, and 3 of 4 v Giants

They're singing "Meet the Mets" (1963 version) in the clubhouse. I love that. I wouldn't even expect many of the players to know the words the way we fans do.

metsguyinmichigan Oct 08 2006 12:31 AM |
"You kind of get tired of giving the other team credit," Rodriguez said in a somber Yankees clubhouse. "At some point, you just have to look in the mirror and say, 'I sucked.'"
|
Yancy Street Gang Oct 08 2006 12:33 AM |
That will be one of the more interesting stories of the offseason: whether Alex Rodriguez returns to the Yankees.

From what I've seen of him, I'm not sure I would either. They can keep the Narcissus of 161st Street. This has been pretty close to a perfect day!

I'd take A-Rod at second base next year. Sure, he's a douchebag, but seriously, how sweet would that lineup be? Reyes, A-Rod, Beltran, Delgado, Wright, Green, LoDuca, Milledge? Plus, I'd get to boo him in person on a regular basis. AND how amazing would it be to have A-Rod turn himself around for the Mets after tanking for the Yankees in the post-season. They'd be eating their fucking hats!
|
Zvon Oct 08 2006 12:49 AM |
...dont A-Rod hv a no trade clause?
|
Willets Point Oct 08 2006 12:50 AM |
Enough on A-Rod, this is our celebration.
|
Yancy Street Gang Oct 08 2006 12:51 AM |
I expect he'd love to get out of New York. (Not that going to the Mets would help in that regard.)
|

I am celebrating. The demise of the Yankees is like dessert to our victory buffet!
|
Edgy DC Oct 08 2006 12:59 AM |
A-Rod is just another guy whose season is over.

I already worked a border cut out---- I guess the main reason i went with this non retro look was I got these great new post season logos from Chris Creamers site ( http://www.sportslogos.net/sport.php?s=2 ) And I imagine Ill probly be working the borders around those for as far as this journey takes us.

|
MFS62 Oct 08 2006 08:36 AM |
I was out and couldn't get to a tv for most of the game or a PC at all.
|
Yancy Street Gang Oct 08 2006 09:33 AM |
I was in front of the TV the whole time. I was too absorbed to even think about joining in an IGT. I wanted to be watching, not reading and typing.
|
ScarletKnight41 Oct 08 2006 09:36 AM |
I did both. I was on my laptop, in the living room.

I was at my laptop in bed (I've had the flu) but I turned the laptop off when Mrs. Mole came to bed.
