I'm using my new "game-used" Tom Nieto locker plate as a good luck talisman.

Got it from the mets.com auction. Of course, I was the only one to bid on it.

My question; How can Steiner call it "game used" when A) Nieto's a coach and doesn't appear in a game and B) Locker tags pretty much stay in the locker rooms and rarely, if ever, make it onto the field of play.

Not saying that's a bad thing. And things have gone well since I brought it over to the coffee table, so I think I'll keep it here.

Rotblatt
Oct 07 2006 09:53 PM

Anyone else feel like Trach's showing was a positive sign for us?

Honestly, he was spotting his fastball, and had a nice breaking ball. His splitter looked good too, but the Dodgers were able to lay off it tonight.

I can't fault Willie for yanking him, but he deserved better.

This ump's wide strike zone helped, but Maddux was getting the same calls.

I think Trax was doing fine and wasn't deserving of the hook or the childish hating in this thread. Of course, the poor fielding screwd him and Willie, and Oliver, kinda, since he wouldn;t be on the mound if we made any plays behind Trax.

Eh. Like I said, we've put ourselves in a position where we have to hit more.

Edgy DC
Oct 07 2006 10:05 PM

How huge is this coming at-bat? The Dodgers might go to Saenz, and Willie is already three-deep into the pen before we're out of the fifth.

A hit here and the gates can open.

Shit, Nomar.

When this move implodes, the rags tomorrow are going to say our vaunted bullpen got exposed, but I say the problem is Willie didn't manage it properly.

Bradford should have been in to face Kent. Feliciano should have been in to face Betemit.

Totally.

So far this series, LA's been terrible in the following categories:

1. Base running
2. Defense
3. Bullpen management
4. Lineup management (Lofton? Especially against lefties!)

We've been playing pretty well, but we got the runt of the litter in in LA.

Johnny's takin' care of things for a while
And his style is so right for troubadours
They got him sitting with his back to the door

Say goodbye to Hollywood

Movin' on is a chance that you have to take
Any time you try to stay - together

Say a word out of line
And you find that the friends you had

Forever

So many faces in and out of my life
Some will last
Some will just be now and then
Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes
I'm afraid it's time for goodbye again
Say goodbye to Hollywood

Take the 8:15 into the city
There's a whistle up above
And people pushin', people shovin'
And the girls who try to look pretty
And if your train's on time
You can get to work by nine
And start your slaving job to get your pay
If you ever get annoyed
Look at me I'm self-employed
I love to work at nothing all day
And I'll be

Taking care of business (every day)
Taking care of business (every way)
I've been taking care of business (it's all mine)
Taking care of business and working overtime
Work out

If it were easy as fishin'
You could be a musician
If you could make sounds loud or mellow
Get a second-hand guitar
Chances are you'll go far
If you get in with the right bunch of fellows
People see you having fun
Just a-lying in the sun
Tell them that you like it this way
It's the work that we avoid

We love to work at nothing all day

I can't see that many teams can afford to take him on. The Mets maybe, if George pays some of the salary, but he wouldn't want to pay Rodriguez to play for the Mets.

I'd take A-Rod at second base next year. Sure, he's a douchebag, but seriously, how sweet would that lineup be?

Reyes, A-Rod, Beltran, Delgado, Wright, Green, LoDuca, Milledge?

Plus, I'd get to boo him in person on a regular basis.

AND how amazing would it be to have A-Rod turn himself around for the Mets after tanking for the Yankees in the post-season. They'd be eating their fucking hats!

...dont A-Rod hv a no trade clause?
....he keeps saying "Im going nowhere."

Lol,...this season he did go nowhere.
Nowhere near the World Series. :)

ok--a lil near.

Enough on A-Rod, this is our celebration.

The Mets are going to play for the Pennant!!!

I expect he'd love to get out of New York. (Not that going to the Mets would help in that regard.)

Maybe he could be a Dodger next year. That wouldn't overly surprise me.

I am celebrating. The demise of the Yankees is like dessert to our victory buffet!

I already worked a border cut out----
I guess the main reason i went with this non retro look was I got these great new post season logos from Chris Creamers site
( http://www.sportslogos.net/sport.php?s=2 )

And I imagine Ill probly be working the borders around those for as far as this journey takes us.

Just want everyone to know that I couldn't be at the computer for the whole game, but I was at the TV for the whole game.

Life is good.

I was out and couldn't get to a tv for most of the game or a PC at all.

Winning the series was good.
Who they won it against mede it even better.

and

I betcha' that the names of the winning pitchers in games 1 and 3 will be the answer to a trivia question not too far in the future.

I was in front of the TV the whole time. I was too absorbed to even think about joining in an IGT. I wanted to be watching, not reading and typing.

I did both. I was on my laptop, in the living room.

I was at my laptop in bed (I've had the flu) but I turned the laptop off when Mrs. Mole came to bed.
