Zvon Oct 14 2006 07:59 PM |
Well, I wore my Seaver jersey for game one.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 08:03 PM |
I'm sure they'll delay the start of the game.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 08:06 PM |
yep-for as long as they see fit---cripes, they just showed a minute of black screen.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 08:11 PM |
Shut up, Joe Buck. Just shut up.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 08:12 PM |
Jose Reyes just screamed "Let's go!" to his batting helmet.

Come on, Carlos, bust out the WHOOPING stick. Bring it.
metsguyinmichigan Oct 14 2006 08:23 PM |
I realized last night that we had won eight games in a row counting the end of the season and the Division Series. We were due to drop one.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 08:23 PM |
Beltran steals second.
seawolf17 Oct 14 2006 08:24 PM |
Nice play by Suppan. S'okay, guys, let's hold 'em.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 08:24 PM |
Delgado reaches for a bad pitch and the inning's over.

Looks like Trachsel's not gonna get any calls.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 08:34 PM |
Ha..Pujols was pissed Wilson didnt try for 3rd.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 08:34 PM |

Valadius Oct 14 2006 08:35 PM |

TheOldMole Oct 14 2006 08:36 PM |
He should have gotten that one.

UGH!!!!!!!!

Fucking Trachsel.
metsguyinmichigan Oct 14 2006 08:38 PM |
At what point do we get Darren Oliver up?
metirish Oct 14 2006 08:38 PM |
Chavez catches that ball, and trax is walking guys like crazy....
Valadius Oct 14 2006 08:39 PM |
You know, this is why we need Cliff Floyd. So Chavez can play right field.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 08:39 PM |
Greens body is like a ball magnet--too bad his glove isnt.
metsguyinmichigan Oct 14 2006 08:40 PM |
hell, Wright got in his way. We're lucky he didn't get spiked.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 08:41 PM |
UGH!
Rotblatt Oct 14 2006 08:41 PM |
This is a(nother) nightmare for us.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 08:41 PM |
Could we get somebody out? Please?
TheOldMole Oct 14 2006 08:41 PM |
The good news is no one got hurt. That's the only good news.
TheOldMole Oct 14 2006 08:42 PM |
And he walks another.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 08:42 PM |
Fucking MOLINA coming up.
metsguyinmichigan Oct 14 2006 08:42 PM |
Our swagger's gone. We need to get out of this, shake it off and get something going.
Rotblatt Oct 14 2006 08:43 PM |
Kris Benson is snickering behind Anna's boobs right now.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 08:43 PM |
fatass up.
metirish Oct 14 2006 08:43 PM |
I really wouldn't care about this game tongiht if we had won last night...this fucking sucks....
Rotblatt Oct 14 2006 08:44 PM |
I don't get it. Trachs has got a pretty good fastball tonight and he's getting his curve over the plate. Hell, even his split looks pretty good.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 08:44 PM |
Me too Irish.
metsguyinmichigan Oct 14 2006 08:44 PM |
Finally. Let's get something going!
TheOldMole Oct 14 2006 08:45 PM |
Could be worse. As we know painfully well, it's possible to come back from a two run deficit.
Rotblatt Oct 14 2006 08:45 PM |
That's more like it, Steve.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 08:45 PM |
WHEW.
Rotblatt Oct 14 2006 08:45 PM |
28 pitches for Steve-o. That's fewer than Carpenter had last night.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 08:46 PM |
Green needs to atone at the plate this inning.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 08:49 PM |
And Green screws up again.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 08:50 PM |
or maybe next time up..... Comeon Mets--Suppan's hitable--hit him.
seawolf17 Oct 14 2006 08:50 PM |
I was about to go all apeshit on Willie for letting Trax get an extra day between starts by pushing him back to Game 3, because I thought I remembered him being worse with more than usual rest... but his ERA this year was almost a run and a half lower when he had more rest.
Rotblatt Oct 14 2006 08:51 PM |
Did I mention that Valentin looks just lost at the plate?
TheOldMole Oct 14 2006 08:51 PM |
This next half inning is the game.
Rotblatt Oct 14 2006 08:52 PM |

Yup. Hell, it's probably the series.
metsguyinmichigan Oct 14 2006 08:52 PM |
FIRST LEAD, NOW SEASON, SLIPPING AWAY
Valadius Oct 14 2006 08:53 PM |
Momentum shifts can be huge.
Hillbilly Oct 14 2006 08:53 PM |
This is just one of those games that we have to win 10-7.
metirish Oct 14 2006 08:54 PM |
Did Suppan just wink at Trax...
metirish Oct 14 2006 08:54 PM |

TheOldMole Oct 14 2006 08:55 PM |
It can't get worse
Valadius Oct 14 2006 08:55 PM |
Dammit Mole, don't tempt the baseball gods.
metsguyinmichigan Oct 14 2006 08:56 PM |
Get Oliver up now, Willie.
Rotblatt Oct 14 2006 08:56 PM |
Jesus fucking Christ.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 08:56 PM |
I want Oliver up IMMEDIATELY.
TheOldMole Oct 14 2006 08:58 PM |
Well. we don't need another injured pitcher.
metsguyinmichigan Oct 14 2006 08:58 PM |
Well, that might be a break if it gets Oliver in the game.
seawolf17 Oct 14 2006 08:59 PM |
Fuckshit. I hate this game.
OlerudOwned Oct 14 2006 08:59 PM |
Dammit, Trachsel
Hillbilly Oct 14 2006 09:00 PM |
That adds injury to insult to Trax.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 09:00 PM |
no---that would have been "worse". And OUCH!, that had to hurt Trax. Pujols up--0 out....runners on the corners.
OlerudOwned Oct 14 2006 09:00 PM |
Focus on Assjols, Steve, don't worry about the goddamned runner.
metsguyinmichigan Oct 14 2006 09:01 PM |
This is an unintentional intntional walk. They're putting him on.
seawolf17 Oct 14 2006 09:01 PM |
GET HIM THE FUCK OUT OF THERE.
OlerudOwned Oct 14 2006 09:01 PM |
Five walks in 1+ innings.
metirish Oct 14 2006 09:02 PM |
And he walks him, 5 fucking walks tonight...Ok I am so very worried.
Johnny Dickshot Oct 14 2006 09:02 PM |
Gotta induce the line drive here and turn 3.
seawolf17 Oct 14 2006 09:03 PM |
They brought the trainer out, allowing Oliver all the time -- well, shit, Tim Mac just said what I was going to say.
Rotblatt Oct 14 2006 09:03 PM |
Well, smart move by Willie to take advantage of the old "injury" thing.
metirish Oct 14 2006 09:03 PM |
Trax is done, maybe done forever as a Met...
Zvon Oct 14 2006 09:03 PM |
UGH.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 09:04 PM |
I doubt we see him again.
OlerudOwned Oct 14 2006 09:04 PM |
Not with Spezio up. It'll probably hit all three outfielders in the heads, spin in the air for a moment, and go over the fence.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 09:04 PM |
Im game.
Hillbilly Oct 14 2006 09:05 PM |
It looks like Trax hurt his mouth when he bit his glove coming off the mound. What a poor effort all the way around from Steve.
seawolf17 Oct 14 2006 09:05 PM |
Nobody I'd rather have starting Game 7 than Darren Oliver. I can't wait. Might as well start Chris Woodward.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 09:05 PM |
It's unfortunate that we're going to have to run Trachsel out of town like this.
Rotblatt Oct 14 2006 09:05 PM |
Hey, that actually made me smile. And I'm a pretty tough crowd right now.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 09:05 PM |
lol--like a pinball game. BING BANG BOINGGGGG!
metsguyinmichigan Oct 14 2006 09:07 PM |
No, I think he was crying. It's got to be hugely emotional. He knows what a disaster it is.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 09:08 PM |
I dunno--if the Mets take this series deep, 7 games, you almost have to see him again. Unless he shows up tomorrow in a cast.
metirish Oct 14 2006 09:09 PM |
I pretty fucking dejected right now.....
OlerudOwned Oct 14 2006 09:09 PM |
IF Oliver impresses right here, and IF we go seven games, does Willie dare give Darren a start.
metsguyinmichigan Oct 14 2006 09:10 PM |
Now I am, too.
OlerudOwned Oct 14 2006 09:10 PM |
Well, bacon just threw a wild pitch. Or something. I don't even know at this point.
metirish Oct 14 2006 09:10 PM |
This is turing nasty..Oliver with a wild pitch to plate another run.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 09:11 PM |
I feel like I'm having a freaking heart attack now.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 09:13 PM |
...who here aint? ...raise your hand. Down 5-0 and the 2nd inning isnt even over yet.
Rotblatt Oct 14 2006 09:14 PM |
So it's bad enough that our team sucks right now, but to have to listen to shitty announcers at the same time . . .
HahnSolo Oct 14 2006 09:14 PM |
Just popped in to say I've been a Trachsel supporter in the past, but could he have come up any smaller tonight?
metirish Oct 14 2006 09:16 PM |
Ok guys, Oliver gets out of the inning...we need a rally song...
Valadius Oct 14 2006 09:16 PM |
Oliver ends an awful inning.
Rotblatt Oct 14 2006 09:17 PM |
Me too, Hahn. He'd been great for us the last three years, but this year . . . I don't know, man. I can't wait to see him leave town. Good pitching by Oliver over all, apart from the wild pitch. So regarding Suppan's wink, Trachs is getting divorced, right? You don't think Suppan was having sex with his wife, do you? Goddamnit this sucks.
OlerudOwned Oct 14 2006 09:17 PM |

I dont see how. And I rather they hit 5 homers in a row that see him give up 5 walks in 1 inning plus. Thats crazy awful. I know Edge- you can do w/o seeing 5 homers in a row. ;)

Is Steven Tyler a Mets fan?, I know he was born in NY...
Frayed Knot Oct 14 2006 09:20 PM |

On my system at least, the radio & TV are synched-up time-wise - so you can put on Howie & Tom and mute the sound. Y'know, I was actually thinking that Trax would be OK after inning 1. Most of the balls he threw were semi-close and no one really hit the ball hard. I was thinking; so if this is the worst of it ...
Rotblatt Oct 14 2006 09:20 PM |

I can't take this.
seawolf17 Oct 14 2006 09:26 PM |
If anything, Steven Tyler's a Red Sox fan... they're Bostoners. (And Steven was born in the 40s, very pre-Mets.) Although it's interesting that he's in St. Louis, because he's sung the anthem in St. Louis before.
Rotblatt Oct 14 2006 09:27 PM |
Fuck.
seawolf17 Oct 14 2006 09:27 PM |
What dickhead is outside in 30-degree weather shooting off firecrackers around here? Must be a Tigers fan.
Elster88 Oct 14 2006 09:28 PM |
You know what else sucks ass? We may need an Oliver type for tomorrow. Putting AndyHandy on the roster (because of Floyd's injury) and removing a pitcher may hurt us.
Rotblatt Oct 14 2006 09:28 PM |
Yeah, I hear you. I'd much rather play well and lose than play like shit and lose.
Elster88 Oct 14 2006 09:29 PM |
BTW, that tri-boom thing is fucking fantastic, Z. One of your best efforts (and that's saying something).
Zvon Oct 14 2006 09:29 PM |
I havent gone far enuff until Ive gone too far. :) Hey--if the Mets can comeback from this, itll be a HUGE momentum shift back to the Mets (after the last, say ,6 Met post season innings) and we do need that shift. So come on Mets--Lets Go.

THANK YOU ENDY CHAVEZ.

Beltran needs to knock one out of here.

With the game pretty much over, the booth finds time for some more Eckstellatio.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 10:29 PM |
He's nuthin but a tiny-tot.
Edgy DC Oct 14 2006 10:30 PM |
They might as well just say "He's a white infielder."
Edgy DC Oct 14 2006 10:31 PM |
McCarver, by the way, is right that batting Oliver was a dubious move by Willie. But he takes it too far (he's wrong) when he suggests that Willie is afraid of injuring his relievers by over-using them.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 10:34 PM |
Darren Oliver deserves a start now.
OlerudOwned Oct 14 2006 10:35 PM |
You think Darren Oliver worked is way back into someone's rotation for next season? He's been awesome this year after looking like toast before Spring Training.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 10:39 PM |
I hear what your saying, and Oliver has done his job here,but.....
Valadius Oct 14 2006 10:41 PM |
See, this is why I didn't want Trachsel on the postseason roster.
Willets Point Oct 14 2006 10:41 PM |

Pedro, El Duque, Seaver, Cy Young....all would have lost this game, too, unless we score a run. Unless Trachsel so demoralized them that they can't hit any more.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 10:44 PM |
I wouldnt agree with that then, and even now, in retrospect. You have to go with what you have and he was a starter who helped get us here. We know what we get with Trax-unfortunately we got the shitty end of the stick tonight. But you know Trax---he could-if given the opportunity-come out next start and give u 7 solid. Sucks trax failed. Sucks wagner failed last night. But thems what we got.
Rotblatt Oct 14 2006 10:45 PM |
Seriously. That was the most moronic comment of the evening. I thought batting Oliver was actually the right move, although I can see questioning it. Willie knows that we might need the rest of our pen tomorrow and Oliver has looked good. If we lose, he's made tonight's loss nigh respectable. If we win, he's the player of the game.
Valadius Oct 14 2006 10:46 PM |
Oliver batting was a good move, for sure.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 10:48 PM |
mini-ha. Lead off walk.i like. Awww Val--wait 4 your pitch guy. 5 runs--thats nothin! We can score 5 runs like that *Z SNAPS
Valadius Oct 14 2006 10:49 PM |
Let's go Mets!!!
Willets Point Oct 14 2006 10:51 PM |

metirish Oct 14 2006 10:52 PM |

Valadius Oct 14 2006 10:59 PM |
Top of the order. This is it!!!
Johnny Dickshot Oct 14 2006 11:00 PM |
This team has done a lot of cool shit this year. Why not now?
Zvon Oct 14 2006 11:00 PM |

Valadius Oct 14 2006 11:07 PM |
It's all up to Carlos. And at least four more consecutive people.
Zvon Oct 14 2006 11:07 PM |
For us to appreciate that you have to "hat" him.
metsguyinmichigan Oct 14 2006 11:07 PM |
Just not a good night. We'll come out swinging tomorrow. I predict Perez surprises us all.
Willets Point Oct 14 2006 11:08 PM |
The comeback starts now with Beltran.

Paging offense.....please pick up the white courtesy phone.
Willets Point Oct 15 2006 12:31 AM |
If the Cardinals take BTO then their is a silver lining in this.
cleonjones11 Oct 15 2006 12:36 AM |
Oliver Perez starting a must win game. Not good. That rainout was a killer. Where is Aaron heilman?
Gwreck Oct 15 2006 12:42 AM |
Perez would still be starting Game 4, regardless of the rainout.
cleonjones11 Oct 15 2006 12:49 AM |
OK..still a probable deathblow now...
Yancy Street Gang Oct 15 2006 10:07 AM |
If we were still doing Schaefer, I'd give Darren Oliver 4 points.
Willets Point Oct 15 2006 10:10 AM |

Yeah, well whose fault is that, you passive-agressive orange monster thing.
Yancy Street Gang Oct 15 2006 10:13 AM |
We're snippy the morning after a horrible loss, aren't we?
Willets Point Oct 15 2006 10:17 AM |
I meant it more as a gentle gibe (see what happens when I don't use SC).
Yancy Street Gang Oct 15 2006 10:48 AM |
You should have used the Gentle Gibe Meter, then.
