After the Mets win this game they will be fine. They just need 5-6 decent innings from Perez and they should be in good shape. I feel pretty good that the Mets will batter Anthony Reyes.

Yeah good point Doc, I can't imagine St.Loius fans are not worried about who's starting for them.

No - it's a night game.

The only day game this week was supposed to be Wednesday, but I'm assuming that's going to be changed now that the ALCS is over.

Its kind of weird, though IIRC not the first time (I'm thinking both 99 and 00 were all night starts), that the Mets will not play an afternoon/early evening LCS game and only one such game in the entire postseason with Game 1 of the DS

Gwreck
Oct 15 2006 07:53 PM

Ken Rosenthal reports that Cliff may be ready to start in Game 5.

Valadius
Oct 15 2006 07:53 PM

Maybe THAT will do something for this offense.

Right! And I was there as well! (shakes head at bad memory)

Why did I think it was a night start? Geez, would have been a very wee-hour of the morning finish!

Well this pitcher is sufficiently wild.

Edgy DC
Oct 15 2006 08:12 PM

This is an interesting first inning. All three have so far taken at least one strike. It's like they want to get a look at his stuff, and then jump on him.

Hillbilly
Oct 15 2006 08:14 PM

I noticed that too. It looks like they are stepping out a lot too. Maybe trying to prevent Reyes from finding his groove.

A Boy Named Seo
Oct 15 2006 08:20 PM

Gwreck
Oct 15 2006 08:20 PM

I can deal with this on defense. But our offense needs to get going NOW.

Zvon
Oct 15 2006 08:30 PM

Well, that's because our offense has put up 11 runs.

He did a pretty good job, but he was still rather shaky. I was just glad that he didn't spit the bit in and need to be pulled in the first three innings. I must admit, that was my greatest fear going into tonight's game.

The PA has been doing the 'Jose-Jose' thing since at least mid-season and maybe earlier.
Maybe I'm just assuming that it was PA-prompted at first because that's the way I heard it all year until near the end of the season when fans were starting it on their own.

Cardinals had this one coming. Now we got a 3-game series, 2 at home.

So do I

The lighting where mine is currently is so bad though, which is why it just went through its SECOND sharpening and brighting of the night!

It has a blue border with the Tom Seaver day date and the authors name on it

Great game!

Perez got the job done and our offense came through in a huge way.

I agree with the earlier comments: our boys came out with a plan and they executed it--took a lot of pitches and worked Reyes over real good.

I don't think I could be happier with our performance today. Just what we needed after some uninspired ball last night.

Let's Go Mets!

just seein some of Perez's pitches in grouped up replays on ESPN.

He really did pitch a fine game...made some great pitches in the clutch.

Looking at some of these pitches---crazy and ashame he ended up with 5 earned runs.

This was really a great game-buncha bombs (both sides) and a win-
baseball like it oughta be .
