I saw it (in another thread) and I love it. Nah-it dont need a back. The 70 topps look was a brilliant idea. Instant nostolgia. I did one also, influenced by your idea, but didnt plan on posting it. But Ill throw it up.

lol. mmmmmm..I can figure out a way to do that eventually. Cant you do that in flash by importing the soundtrack to the flash library, then add to the image of the card? Im not all up on flash making. Feel free to do that if you can-it would be neat.
ScarletKnight41 Oct 13 2006 04:51 PM |
That's beyond my capability, I fear :(
Zvon Oct 13 2006 04:54 PM |
I bet you can do it. Right click the card and save it. Open it in flash on the stage. Drag (or import) a version of the Meet the Mets song to the flash library, then drag to the stage. Then--i dunno what ya do,lol--i guess save it.

Its annoying when I find a pic I would have used after the fact.
Zvon Oct 13 2006 04:59 PM |
Lookin at closeups during the game, I didnt really like the way the grass pattern was cut, but laid out like that it really looks excellent.^
DocTee Oct 13 2006 05:09 PM |
The grass looks like the Budweiser Select scoreboard image.
Zvon Oct 13 2006 05:16 PM |
It would REALLY annoy me if thats why the grass is cut in that pattern.
Zvon Oct 13 2006 05:22 PM |
GAME TWO.
metsmarathon Oct 13 2006 05:25 PM |
its not, but i'd expect some bud select ad to mock up such a thing.

Zvon Oct 13 2006 05:27 PM |
Ya know, ya never know M-M. And that is a great idea (for that ad run-the way they have been doing it) and this is time stamped proof if they rip that idea from you.

It was a snap before I decided to add fonts. DUH! Thats my only bad postseason decision, tho we could debate that, along with some of Willies. I havent even looked at the pics available. Thats how out of this game we were tonight, lol. Yikes.

np. I love doin this kinda stuff. I still like rippin open a pack of baseball cards too, tho I only buy afew packs a season anymore (see current card pack prices). And I love baseball cards. So I make ones Id enjoy seeing. Crap---I spelt Cards wrong there. Ha-so it goes.
Zvon Oct 16 2006 07:01 PM |
...and Ill use that METS SHOW MUSCLE phrase (used way back when by Topps) every game if given the chance.
Edgy DC Oct 16 2006 07:59 PM |
What makes these a great leap forward from the old stuff is the better graphic contrast.
Zvon Oct 20 2006 05:30 PM |
I will finish these fake baseball cards eventually.
DocTee Oct 20 2006 07:35 PM |
Awesome-- "The strength to be there" --emblazoned on the outfield wall-- sorta sums up Endy's effort (and the Mets great season).

that it does. I have 3 of those four images of Chavez as clear (no backround) cutouts that can be placed anywhere (like colorforms) on the original pic (the Chavez far left-looking at pic- is the one thats part of the original pic-thus fixed in place). So, what Im asking, I guess, is which is the preferable layout. And does the colored up one look kool, or what? All I did there was oversaturate the resulting layout/pic. The result, different colors, was just an odd side effect of doing that. I didnt re-color the individual Chavez's. I can make the Chavez's appear even more closely together, or farther apart..... can make them different sizes,.. see thru...lots of ways i can go with the layout. Any suggestions? Im not sure which of the ones I made I prefer, or if I should mess around with it some more....... And has anyone found any pics/versions of the catch that I didnt use here? (I searched for all pics available last night after game-found around 6 or 7-similar view but mili-seconds apart. Some were crops from bigger shots) I gotta thank Endy for making this catch, cuz if he didnt give me that to remember, I would have been so much more bummed last night. What a catch--we'll be seein the replay forever--and to see METS emblazoned across the chest of the man who made that catch...... priceless. Worth it all. Thnk u Endy.
SteveJRogers Oct 20 2006 08:58 PM |
I like the closer together shot. I'd also try to sell it to Upper Deck or Topps as well! The Traded/Update sets usually come out late November and they've been using highlights of DS, LCS and WS games in those sets
SwitchHitter Oct 20 2006 09:52 PM |
I like the first one. So much that I IM'ed the link to a couple people.
Benjamin Grimm Oct 21 2006 09:47 AM |
Those composite shots are great, Zvon. Here's my "old school" take on Endy's catch:

Sweet! That was a great subset back then, and IIRC on one grouping the backs formed a "poster" of Tom Seaver

AWSUM!!! Love retro-esp that '72 "IN ACTION" look. I remember going "WOW! KOOL!" everytime I saw one. Even the Willie Mays, which was such a bad action shot of him sliding into a base, iirc. Seaver was kinda dull too-him on the mound smilin and slappin his glove. On some of those "IN ACTION" cards they chose to use some very interesting, non typical, shots.
