The NLCS and WS in 1986 was one of the most gut wrenching roller coaster rides the Mets have ever taken us on.

Surely we can withstand the heartbreak of last night.

Buck up, folks!

And wear those beards proudly!


Steve, I forgot all about Charlie Kerfield, isn't he the Jello guy? Thanks for the laugh...

Yup. He was the guy that had something to do with Jello in his contract. IIRC he was promised a lot of cases of it.

Can't google an image of the cover of Carter's "A Dream Season" where his grinning, double hands raised expression walking off the field is captured.

One of these days I'm going to take the entire day and just SCAN each and every picture in various programs and yearbooks so I don't have to keep using AstrosDaily.com for Met postseason pictures!
