I don't know what calling pitches four inches off the ground strikes against the Mets has to do with Joyce.

I was seated at "ground level" and that's what they seemed to me.

Was Joyce vision impaired?

MF -- no, he actually was James Joyce. Just not the same James Joyce.

From where I was sitting, the James Joyce with one eye patch at least had one better eye than the similarly named umpire.
