Resurrect the Wifey Watch grid... NOW!!!!

Anna's war of words

BY RICHARD T. PIENCIAK
DAILY NEWS SENIOR CORRESPONDENT

LAS VEGAS - Anna Benson, wife of Mets pitcher Kris Benson, dealt a profanity-laced tirade yesterday at the World Series of Poker.

The former stripper turned Texas Hold'em player told the Daily News that she was having a private conversation with a fellow player about the value of his chips when a dealer asked for a floor supervisor.

"We were having a friendly conversation. We were laughing," Anna Benson said. "He had a $5,000 chip and I was warning him because I thought he was about to mistake it for a $500 one and put it out, I said 'You better put that $5,000 chip away before you get f---.' The dealer heard me and cast me out."

"It's bull---, the whole thing," said Benson, who once threatened on the "Howard Stern Show" that if she caught her husband sleeping around, she'd bed the entire Mets team and organization.

"Why are they trying to get moral? I'm mean, we're gambling. People are drinking. This is Las Vegas. I don't want to hear this. There are no morals here."

When the dealer sought permission to invoked the World Series of Poker's so-called F-bomb rule, which calls for a 10-minute penalty for any player using the word, Benson says she asked if she could use other vulgarities. "I said everything. If they had four or more letters, I said them all."

So, Benson took a 10-minute walk out of the Amazon Room at the Rio, where the tourney is being held. Benson said she has been playing poker for only two weeks. She found herself studying for the tournament after an unknown person placed a $10,000 bet at 455-to-1 on her to win the WSOP's Main Event, which officials announced yesterday will carry a record-breaking $7.5 million first prize. The bet was placed at pokertropolis.com, the parent firm of PokerBlue, which is sponsoring Benson. "It was crazy since I had never played before," Benson said of the bet. "But rather than make this person look like an ass I went and learned poker."

Benson was holding her own. She was sitting with about $14,000 in chips after starting the third of three preliminary rounds with $10,000.

Help me get this back together again. Johnny Dickshot, you're online. What were Zambrano and Bell's situations again?

Yancy Street Gang, you've got Heilman and Castro.

Woodward's wife's name is Erin McCaffery. Can't find no picture of her, though.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 15 2005 07:59 AM

I searched high and low for Zambrano info but only found out his mother's name (Elizabeth, IIRC).

Bell is married (Nicole) and has three kids. In this interview by kids on MLB.com, he reveals his wife is Chinese. Further investigation reveals she is the former Nicole Wong of Irvine, Calif., whose father passed away last November of heart disease.

MLB.com: How many kids do you have?
Heath Bell: Three. Jasmyne is six, Jordyn is three and Reece, my son, is one and a half.

MLB.com: What is the hardest part of being a baseball player?
Bell: My family doesn't travel with me. They live in Florida. I miss them to death. My wife makes me DVD's from her digital camera and that is how I see them take their first steps. You ought to see my locker. It is a kid's locker; filled with their pictures, cards and drawings.

MLB.com: And the best part?
Bell: I will tell you a story. I was in double A and I lost a game on a home run pitch. When I got home my oldest daughter said to me, "Dad that was a long ball. It was cool!" That was the best.

MLB.com: Are you involved in any charities?
Bell: Well I thought the reason you wanted to talk to me was because my daughter Jordyn has Down's Syndrome. I get asked a lot about it. We are very involved with Down's Syndrome. You know they call it Down's Syndrome after the doctor, but the kids are so loving and upbeat and happy; they are not down at all.

MLB.com: What is your favorite holiday?
Bell: Christmas is my holiday. I go nuts with the lights and you have to put them up right after Thanksgiving. We have a fake tree so I spray the smell of pine. My oldest daughter likes Halloween the most.

MLB.com: What do you do for Mother's Day and Father's Day?
Bell: For Mother's Day I call my mom and my wife if I am on the road. I send flowers to my wife. She's a great mom. For Father's Day I call my dad. My wife does something special. If I am on the road my family calls and sends me homemade cards.

MLB.com: Do you have a favorite food?
Bell: Chinese. Dim Sum. My wife is Chinese. I use chopsticks and she uses a fork.

Thanks all. Yeah, we had Nicole Bell and Erin McCaffery on the old grid. Thanks for reminding me.

Funny that I was able to find no pictures of Erin. I did a lot of research and found that they were supposedly the first couple of the Blue Jays, being the team's first family in like 20 years to make their offseason home in Toronto and always being the one to welcome the families of new players. Plus, she had aims of being an actress and producer, supposedly working to develop (sit down) a Canadian "Desperate Housewives."

Sounds single to me.

Ramon Abraham Castro and his wife, Brenda, make their home in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico with their daughters, Mairym, Natali and Misoti.
Was scouted and signed by Frankie Thon (Astros).
Attended Vega Baja (PR) High School and became first player out of Puerto Rico ever selected in first round of June draft when Astros took him with 17th overall pick in the 1994 draft... rated by Baseball America as the 12th best position player available in that draft.
Is a participant in Adopt-a-Classroom.

Him having a wife named Brenda makes me like him for being married. (For some reason I'm speaking NYPD Blue.)

I did a Google Image Search on "Brenda Castro" and found this lady:

That's probably not Ramon's wife, but it might be fun to pretend that it is. Especially for Ramon.

Johnny Dickshot

Jose Offerman's wife name is Alexis.

Here's a funny story about Chrissie Daubach:

Daubach met his wife, Chrissie, when she cut his hair in Baltimore before the Sox played the Orioles April 4, 2001. Daubach hit two home runs off Sidney Ponson that night and Hideo Nomo no-hit the Orioles, 3-0. Chrissie, who owned the Baltimore barbershop, cut Daubach's hair again on Oct. 6, 2001, the night Cal Ripken Jr. retired. And the rest is history -- or matrimony; the Daubachs were married this month (November 2003)

Searching for the right Joo Hyun...

Joo-Hyun Kang, executive director, Audre Lorde Project, a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two-Spirit and Transgender (LGBTST) center for people of color in New York City. Are you Jae's Joo?

Ok Joo-Hyun, recording artist and actress, formerly one fourth of the all-girl pop act ‘Fin.K.L.’ Perhaps you're Jae's Joo?

Joo Huyn, a girly girl at Myrtle Beach back in October, 2002. Was this the photo that melted Jae's heart?

The same Joo Hyun celebrating her birthday in pink at "Hoesook's house" with one other guest during her since discarded Amelie period. I would've come had I known.

Graphic designer Yoon Joo-Hyun goofing for the camera in a London airport. Traveling to see Jae, perhaps?

I'm trying to turn my head sideways and figure out if this is the pop singer again, now spelling her name "Oak."

This young lady is perhaps a recipient or a presenter at the 2004 Peter M. Cicchino Social Justice Foundation WCL Awards for Outstanding Advocacy in the Public Interest.

Here she's sitting on a panel in front of a butt-ugly curtain, while the guy on the right checks her out. The question being asked of the panel? "Which one of you is Jae's Joo?"

This is definitely pop-singer Ok again, showing her fall look. The tracks on her album L’ Ordeur Original

1.SWEET RAINYDAY
2.The dance which it soaks there is reminiscence
3.Place
4.Catch
5.Approach prohibition
6.Love Diary
7.The beautiful face it does
8.Forgive and Forget
9.One-sided love
10.Come to me
11.Catch (Remix)

What the...? Jae, anybody but this freak and her macabre blog.

Cho Joo-hyun, professor of Women's Studies at Keimyung University, Daegu, Korea. Professors beat bloodied bloggers six days a week.

This Joo (Jae's Joo? I don't know!) is dating a guy in an oversized suit named "Vaughn." I haven't seen anybody so far out of his league (three-piece seersucker?) since Jeff Duncan in 2003.

Jae, who's your baby?

The Mets signed both brothers atthe same time, and they were teammates on the same minor league club for a while.
