Tampa Bay: Kazmir, XXXXXXX for Zambrano & Fortunato
Miwaukee: Rusch + XXXXXXX for Burnitz, D'amico

KC was the 3 way with the Bucs that sent Benson and Keppinger here and Huber there.

Oakland had to be Justice-Guthrie/Yates

I'm away from my work sheet but I'll endeavor to continue.

duan says:

]San Fran: Shinjo & Desi for Shawn Estes

Bingo!

]Pittsburgh: Wigginton, Huber [who then got traded for some dude who KC had claimed off waivers from Pittsburgh], Peterson for Keppinger & Benson

I ain't taking no partial answers.

]Tampa Bay: Kazmir, XXXXXXX for Zambrano & Fortunato

And I mean it.

]Miwaukee: Rusch + XXXXXXX for Burnitz, D'amico

Grrrr.

]Colorado: Jay Satan for John Thomson

But wait... there's more!

]Cleveland: Escobar, Lawton for Alomar + XXXXXXX

XXXXXXXXX gets traded a lot.

]Philly: Kook, Wendell for Bruce Chen & Adam Walker

Bingo! Sorry, Gary Bennett fans, but GB was acquired four days earlier.

]philly might have been pratt for bennett either.

This incorrect afterthought almost makes me want to discard your correct answer.

]oakland - was it t long for rogers or taylor for isringhousen?

Most certainly was NOT!!

Onto SI Metman

]KC was the 3 way with the Bucs that sent Benson and Keppinger here and Huber there.

The KC portion of that trade involved only minor-leaguers.

]Oakland had to be Justice-Guthrie/Yates

Bingo!

]Houston was Hidalgo for Weathers. I believe Wheeler was a waiver claim.

The Fonz says, "Incorrect-amundo!"

Yup, you're right.

A lot of launchers changed hands with that one.

SI Metman
Jul 12 2005 09:15 PM

getting specific on the Kazmir trade:

Scott Kazmir and Joselo Diaz for Victor Zambrano and Bartolomo Fortunato

I wanna take a shot at the Alomar trade and say:

Matt Lawton, Billy Traber, Jerrod Riggan, Alex Escobar and Snyder for Alomar, Peoples and Bacsik

Florida: Piazza trade for Ed Yarnall, Geoff Goetz and Preston Wilson?

Toronto: Mookie for Musselman?

San Diego: Bobby M. Jones and Jason Bay for Steve Reed and Jason Middlebrook?

SI Metman
Jul 12 2005 09:22 PM

The Cedeno trade also brought back Chris Widger along with Wilson Delgado

Colorado: I'm thinking Mark Little came back with Thompson for Satan

Arizona: I'm thinking that same Mark Little was involved in the last D-backs trade.

Cinci: Estes for Raul Gonzalez and 3 others if anyone else can remember them.

Cubbies: Brian McRae, Smell Blojas and Turk Wendell for Lance Johnson, Manny Alexander and Mark Clark

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 12 2005 09:23 PM

Sorry for the incompletes. I was in a rush this afternoon and figured you only wanted to ID the trades.

The missing guy in the KC deal was Jose Bautista

The deal with Houston was Wheeler for roided up outfielder Adam Suess

The SI Metman ided Joselo Diaz as the missing guy in the TB trade; the same Jo Diaz came along with Vic Diaz in the Burnitz to LA trade (which was trumped this spring by Ishii-Phillips as noted).

Oakland: Justice for Guthrie and (edit) Yates (SI MM got that above)

The Estes-to-Cincy deal was Feliciano, Gonzalez and Brady Clark

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 12 2005 09:30 PM

Was Atlanta Paul Byrd for McMichael?

Edgy DC
Jul 12 2005 09:46 PM

Now we're playing with wood bats. Starting with the Metman.

]Scott Kazmir and Joselo Diaz for Victor Zambrano and Bartolomo Fortunato

Bingo! This was also the greatest trade the Mets have ever made

]Matt Lawton, Billy Traber, Jerrod Riggan, Alex Escobar and Snyder for Alomar, Peoples and Bacsik

Bingo!

]Florida: Piazza trade for Ed Yarnall, Geoff Goetz and Preston Wilson?

And thus ends the winning streak.

]Toronto: Mookie for Musselman?

Now we know that's not true.

]San Diego: Bobby M. Jones and Jason Bay for Steve Reed and Jason Middlebrook?

Not quite there.

]The Cedeno trade also brought back Chris Widger along with Wilson Delgado

Bingo!

]Colorado: I'm thinking Mark Little came back with Thompson for Satan

I still need more.

]Arizona: I'm thinking that same Mark Little was involved in the last D-backs trade.

One package does not a trade make.

]Cinci: Estes for Raul Gonzalez and 3 others if anyone else can remember them.

Somebody can.

]Cubbies: Brian McRae, Smell Blojas and Turk Wendell for Lance Johnson, Manny Alexander and Mark Clark

Bingo! But the Blojas thing wasn't that funny. This trade is still very interesting to me.

Back to Johnny Dickshot

]The missing guy in the KC deal was Jose Bautista

I'll give you a Bingo!, as he was the missing guy in the Pittsburgh trade after being acquired from Kansas City, and I think that's what you meant. KC is still on the board, though.

]The deal with Houston was Wheeler for roided up outfielder Adam Suess

Bingo!

]The Estes-to-Cincy deal was Feliciano, Gonzalez and Brady Clark

Still another guy out there, Bishop.

]Was Atlanta Paul Byrd for McMichael?

Bingo!

I cheated and looked the rest of them up, and there's no way people are guessing some of these. Because I've looked at the answers, I'll respectfully remove myself from the game the rest of the way.

I thought we had Colorado already -- Payton and Mark Stoner Corey for John Thomson and Mark "I Suck Not A" Little. Little was then moved to Arizona for Bevis Butthead. What happened to that guy?

Hints

Florida: Think first-at-bat home runs.

San Diego: Peeps have gotten pieces of this, but there are a few leftover details that they haven’t been able to wrap up.

Texas: The trade involved a solid journeyman fourth outfielder, who only got a partial season with us after being acquired in a high-profile trade.

Toronto: The Mets trade for a veteran bat off the bench.

Washington/Montreal: Parts of this trade have been suggested, but not the whole enchilada. It’s part of the great Rick Anderson/Ed Hearn trade chain.
