33 World Series have gone 7 games (no series ever ended 5-4). That's more than I expected.

Were any of those seven-game series 5-2 instead of 4-3?

To clarify, what I meant was that 33 seven game World Series have gone the distance, while none of the nine game ones did.

In that case I'll listen to it with the sound turned down.

I was going to start a thread just like this today. It's amazing how long these three days seem.

It took me a moment to appreciate the absurdity of that statement.

sans baseball

imagine how the guys at SportsCenter feel -- there is NOTHING going on in the sports world, unless you count the ramp-up for the British Open or the day's Tour de France update.

Good thing we have little league!

If you can make it to the game, they're giving away Sid and Joe bobble head dolls.
Its true.
Even a twisted mind like mine can't make stuff like that up.

The only problem will be five or ten years from now, trying to explain them to your kids.

AAA All-Star Game on espn2
Dunno if any Tides are involved.

RHP Jaun Padilla and RHP Jason Scobie represented the Tides on the International League squad.

Scobie was the starting pitcher for the IL and he was absolutely rocked by the PCL line up. Scobie pitched one inning allowing 4 hits (including a grand slam), 2 walks, and 5 earned runs.

Padilla pitched the seventh inning allowing one hit and no runs.
