That's a cool hat.

I've got a blue one just like it.

Did your dad get you that NYTimes Mets pin set like you suspected?

I had ordered a Mets royal blue one about two years ago and it was out of stock before they could fulfill my order. Cha, seeing the deep depression this disappointment drove me into, searched for two years before finding it in navy. Now my life is so much better.

The original one I ordered, and this one, were part of a "Cooperstown Collection" or something.

The orignal one also said something like "1962-2002" or something. I don't remember.

Yeah, the navy is a disapointment, but it provides a contrast to Mr. Met's hat and the orange stitching that surrounds him.

Cool detail that you can barely tell from the photo: The stitching on Mr. Met's head and the insignia on his hat are actually stitched in.

Oh then mine's different. My Mr. Met is felt I think, not stitched on.

Mine had '1962' on it but I didn't dig that so I pulled the stitches out.

Mr. Met all by hisself says it all.

No, it sounds like the same one.

It's just those two details that are stitched in.

If the hat said 1962-2002 on it, I'd start feeling like it was a tribute to a guy with a large baseball head who died at the age of 40.

No, Soup's right. It just said "1962."

Soup, why you gotta be a 1962 hater? You embarassed about the history of our beloved franchise?

(just kidding)

Nah, just thought it looked better without it.

Whenever I see this subject line, I think of the children's book, Go Dog, Go!, where there are two recurring characters. One, who always wears a new hat and asks, "Do you like my hat?" and another, who always (and very rudely, I might add), says "No, I do not like that hat."

Until the very end, when he did like the party hat.

Which isn't to say that I don't like Edgy's hat. In fact, I think it's quite nice.

But when I see this thread, I just can't help thinking about those dogs.
