This song pops into my head when its time for a Game 7, well it did for the 2003 and 2004 ALCSs so here is some Limp Bizkit

Special
You think you're special
You do
I can see it in your eyes
I can see it when you laugh at me
Look down on me
and walk around on me
Just one more fight
About your leadership
And I will straight up
Leave your shit
Cause I've had enough of this
And now I'm pissed

Yeah
This time I'm 'a let it all come out
This time I'm 'a stand up and shout
I'm 'a do things my way
It's my way
My way, or the highway

This time I'm 'a let it all come out
This time I'm 'a stand up and shout
I'm 'a do things my way
It's my way
My way, or the highway

Check out, check check, check out reality x2
Check, check out, check, check out, check, check, check out reality

Just one more fight
About a lot of things
And I will give up everything
To be on my own again
Free again

Yeah
This time I'm 'a let it all come out
This time I'm 'a stand up and shout
I'm 'a do things my way
It's my way
My way, or the highway

This time I'm 'a let it all come out
This time I'm 'a stand up and shout
I'm 'a do things my way
It's my way
My way, or the highway

Some day you'll see things my way
Cause you never know
no, you never know
When you're gonna go

Some day you'll see things my way
Cause you never know
no, you never know
When you're gonna go

Check, check out, check, check out, check out reality x3

Just one more fight
And I'll be history
Yes I will straight up
Leave your shit
And you'll be the one who's left
Missing me

Yeah
This time I'm 'a let it all come out
This time I'm 'a stand up and shout
I'm 'a do things my way
It's my way
My way, or the highway

This time I'm 'a let it all come out
This time I'm 'a stand up and shout
I'm 'a do things my way
It's my way
My way, or the highway

Some day you'll see things my way
Cause you never know
no, you never know
When you're gonna go

Some day you'll see things my way
Cause you never know
no, you never know
When you're gonna go

Check out, check, check out, check, check out, check , check out -reality
Check out, check, check out, check, check out, check
Check out, check, check out, check, check out, check , check out... reeaaliityy

ESPN 790 the Sports Animal played "Meet the Mets" coming back from the sporst ticker at 3:30 (that's 4:30 your time). And I sang along.

Anyone bot a link to where I can listen to it again?

Just for you JD, here is a parody of a Kris Kristofferson penned classic, Mets fans to Mr. Perez

Take the ball to the mound
Get loose and lets play some ball

Got a game to win
here in the shadows of early Fall

Come and pitch well tonight
Till the Red Birds have no more fight

All I'm asking is six or maybe five
Help the Mets win it tonight.

I dont care if the decision's right or wrong,
Never try to understand.

Let the devil take tomorrow. lord, tonight I need a win.

Yesterday is dead and gone and tomorrows out of sight.
Just need to win once more, help the Mets win it tonight.

I dont care if the decision's right or wrong,
Never try to understand.

Let the devil take tomorrow. lord, tonight I need a win.

Yesterday is dead and gone and tomorrows out of sight.
Just need to win once more, help the Mets win it tonight.

Oliver, summon the ghost of Bobby Jones from game 4 of the 2000 NLDS.

David Wright, pre-all star break, please step forward.

A more relevant Game 7 song:

All 7 and we'll watch them fall
They stand in the way
of love
And we will smoke them all
With an intellect
and a savoir-faire
No one else in the whole universe
Will ever compare

I am urs now and u are mine
And 2gether we'll love through
All space and time,
so don't cry
One day all 7 will die

But here today

There was a Checkpoint Charlie

Hong Kong is up for grabs
London is full of arabas
We could be in Palestine
Overrun by a Chinese line
With the boys from the Mersey and the Thames and the Tyne
But there's no danger
It's a professional career
Though it could be arranged
With just a word in Mr. Churchill's ear
If you're out of luck you're out of work
We could send you to Johannesburg

Oliver's army is here to stay
Oliver's army are on their way
And I would rather be anywhere else

4 innings in and Ollie has (knocking on wood) been remarkably consistent:

61 pitches, 44 strikes (including the intentional walk to Pujols). That's 72% strikes.

When he misses on a fastball, it looks like he's going to fall over. Wonder if him pitching on short rest is keeping him from overthrowing more?

Whatever, keep doing it, please.

I Still Believe (Great Design)

I been in a cave
For forty days
Only a spark
To light my way
I wanna give out
I wanna give in
This is our crime
This is our sin
But I still believe
I still believe
Through the pain
And the grief
Through the lies
Through the storms
Through the cries
And through the wars
Oh, I still believe
Flat on my back
Out a sea
Hopin' these waves
Don't cover me
I'm turned and tossed
Upon the waves
When the darkness comes
I feel the grave
But I still believe
I still believe
Through the cold
And the heat
Through the pain
And through the tears
Through the crowds
And through the cheers
Oh, I still believe
I'll march this road
I'll climb this hill
Down on my knees if I have to
I'll take my place
Up on this stage
I'll wait 'til the end of time
for you like everybody else
I'm out on my own
Walkin' the streets
Look at the faces
That I meet
I feel like I Like I want to go home
What do I feel
What do I know
But I still believe
I still believe
Through the shame
And through the grief
Through the heartache
Through the years
Through the waiting
Through the years
For people like us
In places like this
We need all the hope
That we can get
Oh, I still believe

(1) WFAN makes money exploiting the stupid. Stop listening.

(2) Don't steal Dickshot's caustic fucktard line. That's no way to get a master's degree.

(3) It's prior restraint to attack them first for what you think they'll say tomorrow.

(4) You're saying you don't want to hear it from them, and yet you say you do.

(5) You're prepared to rip them either way.

(6) You're missing out on living the moment by worrying about how it's going to be regurgitated. Why give a crap?

(7) If Yankee fans are stupid enough to buy that A-Rod crap, then it'll sell. Who cares if they burn down their house with stupidity? Let them smoke in bed.

I don't buy all this that the Mets were so much better than the Cards.
The Cards had a bad run at the end of the season, but they have a lot of depth up and down the lineup, live arms in the bullpen, and better starting pitching, especially when our #1 and # 3 starters are crippled.

I hated to see Cliffie strike out in what could be his last appearance as a Met. Hated to see Beltran leave the bases loaded.

But I too must tip my hat to the Cardinals.

It's been a wonderful season, but there are no guarantees in baseball.

Especially when you wait until the bottom of the ninth to do all your hitting.

That WAS a great game.
And that last inning-we had two scenarios i would have paid to see:
Cliffy in position for a limp off homer and bases juiced for Beltran.

I got to see that--but you cant always get everything you want.
Didnt get to see the Mets win and move on.

But I hold my head high.
Mets are STILL the best and I am soooo proud of what my team showed me this season.

Too much pissin' and dissin' at the end of this last IGT of the season (even
for my taste, and I can out piss and diss most of you by a lot).

That ninth inning is gonna stick in my craw for a good three weeks:

Bottom of the 9th
Pitching Change: (P) Flores replaced by (P) Wainwright
Hit: Valentin hits a single to CF. 0 out.
Hit: Chavez hits a single to LF. J Valentin to second. 0 out.
Offensive Substitution: (P) Heilman replaced by (PH) Floyd
Out: Floyd strikes out. E Chavez holds on first. J Valentin holds on second. 1 out.
Out: Reyes flies out to CF. E Chavez holds on first. J Valentin holds on second. 2 outs.
Play: Lo Duca walks. E Chavez to second. J Valentin to third. 2 outs.
Offensive Substitution: (C) Lo Duca replaced by (PR) Hernandez
Out: Beltran strikes out. 3 outs.

We get along pretty well here. Let's not ruin that with the aftereffects of an emotional, wrenching loss. You guys covered everything nicely in the IGT.

For the historical record, I'll add that Endy got two curtain calls after that catch. First one had required some serious coaxing from Julio Franco to get him out. Both unfortunately probably occured during the commercial breaks.

I still am a big Aaron Heilman fan. The crowd did a good job, still rising to their feet for the 2-strikes on the next batter, still cheering, with no booing as the inning ended (the typical Shea response to an inning like that).

It's less than four months until pitchers and catchers report. I'm going to need most of that time to get over this past year.
